Another day where I went with an over and another day where the over didn’t come through.
In hindsight I should have stayed away from it but I didn’t. I went with Over 6.5 in the Sens vs Leafs game and it stayed under when the Leafs won 2-1. I thought that with the recent results between these teams that the over was the smart play. The teams were tied with 28 shots each but both goalies were decent.
The Blackhawks won again beating the Red Wings 2-0. And believe it or not, the Hawks are now in 2nd place in the Central. They are tied with the Panthers for 1st but have played 4 more games. They have also played 4 more games than the 3rd and 4th place teams, the Lightning and Hurricanes, and have only 1 point more than them. I wanted to say all of this as I think it will be the only time this season where I can say the Hawks are anywhere near the top of the standings.
The Panthers beat the Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime. Huberdeau scored twice including the winner in OT. Great game between two of the better teams in the Central.
The Oilers beat the Jets 3-2. Draisaitl scored twice and McDavid had two assists. McDavid tied Crosby as the 8th fastest player in league history to reach 500 points in 369 games. The Canucks beat the Flames 5-1. This was the 4th game in a row between these teams with them trading wins. They don’t play again until the end of April.
A nice and full night of NHL action for us with 8 games. We had a lot of discussion about todays games and managed to come up with one tip.

Islanders vs Penguins
The Islanders have been a good defensive team this season and a good chunk of their games have stayed under. But most of their unders have been against weaker teams.
They have played twice so far this season and both games hit 7 goals.
The Isles will be looking to extend their win streak to 4 games and the Pens should be motivated to get back in the win column after beating the Caps and then losing to them two days later.
Both of the previous games between them the Pens were able to take over 30 shots. The Isles goaltending has been hit or miss all season. Varlamov allowed 3 goals on 17 shoots against the Flyers and 5 on 22 shots against the Capitals.
