Quite the night of hockey last night.
Props to the Red Wings for a massive victory over the Blackhawks on the road. Detroit are really showing they have what it takes this season, and very interesting to see how they will fare come the playoffs.
Someone FINALLY managed to stop that Calgary Flames comeback, although it took until overtime to do it. And how about that Oilers vs Bruins game? Bruins come back from 2 goals down to tie it up, and then it goes to a 12 round shootout before the Oilers finally nab the win.
A lot of great games, and a good evening of hockey.
Flyers vs Sabres Betting Tips:
The Flyers sweeped the Sabres last year, and if they win tonight they’ll be doing the same this year. It’s rumoured that Anders Lindback will be starting tonight for the Sabres, although as of this writing it’s not confirmed yet.
This isn’t a banker by any means. Flyers are having problems with goal productions with the Giroux/Voraceck line, with Lecavalier struggling too. It would be the ideal game for the Flyers to just rack up the goals tonight – but I’m hesitant on the handicap.
Going to take Flyers in Regulation tonight. It’s a low price of 1.62 that I usually avoid, but I think there is still value on that line.
Rangers vs Canucks Betting Tips:
Talbot is in goal for the Rangers again. He’s been solid, but that combined with the Canucks missing a few key defenders, and the offenses on display tonight – hard to see any other option but to take Over 5.5 goals when it’s 2.10 odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
Other Games:
It’s a very tricky day and I can’t pull the trigger on anything. However I wanted to post thoughts on a couple of other games:
Islanders vs Predators: A battle between two excellent teams. Islanders can be tricky to predict as they generally play to the strength of their opponent, which is why often they struggle against the likes of Buffalo and Edmonton. In a game between two evenly matched teams though, you have Rinne in net for the Predators. He can be the difference maker and 2.00 odds is a good price.
Capitals vs Jets: Capitals have a good record against the Jets, match up well and are playing hot. Jets always have the capabilities to mix it up though. I think if Capitals win, it’s by a goal or two which makes -1.5 a good price.
Stars vs Sharks: Another tight one, but Lehtonen is on a roll at the moment. We know how inconsistent he can be of course, but I like riding him tonight.
