We had the Coyotes to beat the Jackets and they did win 3-2 in overtime.
The Sens pounded the Blues 7-2, the Devils beat the Jets 4-2 thanks to an empty net goal at the end.
The Oilers blew a 3-0 lead and a 4-2 lead when the Avalanche came back to win 6-5 in OT.
The Hawks beat the Leafs 5-3 with Kane scoring a hat trick. He now has 5 goals in the last 2 games.
6 games for us today and with it being Presidents Day in America and Family Day in Canada the games start early.
Ducks vs Panthers
The Ducks are having some issues. They have lost 4 in a row and are in 31st overall in the league.
The Panthers have gone 5-4-1 and are in 10th in the East but only 1 point behind the 8th place Islanders.
The Ducks have been really bad over this losing skid. They have been outscored 26-11 and after this game they play the Lightning, Caps and Hurricanes. So they are in for some tough games.
The Panthers are the heavy favourites here and we would need to take them -2.5. With their play of late I can’t do that so I have to skip.
Senators vs Bruins
The Sens still have hope for the postseason but they have a bunch of ground to cover to do so. They are 5 points behind the Isles who are in 8th but the Sens have 4 games in hand over them so it’s doable.
The Bruins are the Bruins. They are just a machine this year. They are in 1st for goals per game, goals allowed per game and penalty kill %. The are 8th in shots on goal, 7th in shots allowed on goal, 7th power play and 3rd for shooting percentage. Oh and they are at home where they have been amazing going 23-2-3.
The Sens will be riding the momentum from yesterday’s game. But the Bruins are so hard to bet against. Would need to take them -1.5 and the odds for that are too low. I’m sure they win but the Sens showed life yesterday and may keep it close.
Kraken vs Sharks
Kraken have won their last 2 games and are in 3rd in the Pacific. They are within 2 points of the division lead.
The Sharks continue to tumble. They have lost their last 3 games and are in 29th overall which has them 18 points out of the wild card.
On the road the Kraken have gone 17-8-3, at home the Sharks have gone 5-14-7.
With the Sharks play and their record at home I feel taking the Kraken is the right way to go. But they have gone 3-3-1 this month and I would need to take them in regulation and just don’t have the confidence in them at the moment.
Flyers vs Flames
The Flyers are playing bad dropping their last 4 games and going 2-5-3 over last 10.
The Flames are also struggling going 2-2-2 this month. 3 of their 6 games have needed overtime including 1 of their wins.
I can’t back either team here so it’s an easy skip. I would lean towards a Flames win but would need to be in regulation to just barely hit our minimum.
Jets vs Rangers
The Jets have gone 5-5 over last 10. They are in 2nd in the Central. Defensively they are a strong team ranking 3rd ingoals allowed per game and 12th in shots allowed.
The Rangers dropped their last game in overtime but had won 7 straight before that. Its that run they went in that has helped them close the gap between them and the Devils.
With the way the Rangers have been playing going 8-0-2 over last 10 its hard to bet against them. Plus they brought in Motte again from the Sens. They will be playing at home after the last 4 were on the road.

Islanders vs Penguins
Big game here. The Isles are 5th and the Pens 4th in the Metro. They are in both wild card spots and both teams have 63 points but the Isles have played 4 more games than the Pens.
They have played twice this season with the Isles winning both.
This is an important game for both teams so I’m skipping.

Not crazy about the picks but I think there’s some value to them. Winnipeg is off the back to back and has lost both to Columbus and New Jersey to start the 4 game road trip. Only about a .500 team when on the road.
Not crazy about this spot for the Rangers though off a successful road trip. It’s difficult ask for a team to continue to play at such a high level and I’m seeing slight signs that indicate a loss could be on the horizon. Winnipeg goes right back to Hellebuyck which I like. If it’s Shesterkin, he’s 4-0 his last 4 starts. But GAA 3.5 save percentage a low 87.5 percent. I’ll take a shot on the Jets pulling the upset with some lower expectations.
