The 4 Nations Face-Off was great and it was awesome to see a best of the best tournament featuring NHL players again. The 16.1 million viewers showed the league why they need to do this more often.
Canada won but it wasn’t easy getting there. It was great to see McDavid scoring the overtime winner in the finals in overtime as it seemed like a passing of the torch type moment as Crosby is getting older and it’s McDavid’s turn to be Hockey Canada’s go-to guy.
The problem is with any hockey that isn’t part of the NHL there’s a chance players can get hurt and a few did with McAvoy suffering a significant shoulder injury. Can’t wait for the Olympics now and I hope Bedard earns a spot by then.
Yesterday the Capitals beat the Oilers and Ovechkin scored the hat trick to give him 29 on the season and is now only 13 goals behind Gretzky. The Caps won both games this weekend scoring 15 times over those two games.
Only 2 games today.
Sharks vs Jets
This is a crazy mismatch.
The Sharks are a mess. They have lost 5 in a row
The Jets have won 9 games in a row and are at home where they have have gone 22-5-3.
They just played on December 17 and the Jets won that one 4-3.
We would have to take the Jets -2.5 and there is no way I’m doing that even though all the stats and data go the Jets way.
Knights vs Kings
Knights come into this on a 3 game win streak and are in 1st in the Pacific.
The Kings have gone 4-0-1 in February with one of those wins coming in overtime. They are in 3rd in the Pacific.
They played twice at the start of the season in October and each team won of those.
Knights don’t have the strongest road record going 14-11-4 and the Kings still have an incredible home record going 18-3-2.
I would lean towards the Kings to win with their home record but the Knights are on a 3 game streak.

Jets on the Puckline of -1.5…….x1.62
Parlay with Dessert:
Full game UNDER 7.0: Veg/LA……….x1.30
NCAAB SCST at -13.0 ………………… x1.87
The Jets will be tempted to play down to SJ’s level, as they are a bad team, but the Jets NEED to be assertive to get tuned up after the long break, as all teams do. There have been horrendous performances in the last couple days by most teams and that can’t be allowed to continue. To delay that tuneup could create several losses. So I expect them to at least go out for some conditioning and line tuneups, and win with a good margin as a result, and they’re at home. The Sharks have some talent but are slow, highly vulnerable and on a back-to-back with travel. Winnipeg’s scheduling look-ahead is not showing imminent big threats, so the Jets won’t be saving calories for the next game. Time to rock and roll!
Vegas and LA will be defensive as usual. The NCAAB’s SC State are playing a very bad team and themselves are on a strong offensive roll, so 13 points could be half or less of what the final difference is.
