Only 3 games yesterday and it was a winning night for us
I had the Jets to beat the Senators and they scored first and never looked back winning 4-1. They are the top team in the standings and their franchise record win streak is up to 11 games.
The Avalanche found some offense when they beat the Devils 5-1 with MacKinnon scoring twice and adding an assist. The Canucks beat the Kings 3-2 in OT which was a rare home loss for the Kings
For tonight we are back to having 12 games.
Sharks vs Canadiens
Nothing here for me.
Oilers vs Panthers
Oilers are on a 4 game losing skid. On the road they have gone 16-10-2.
The Panthers are 7-3-0 in last 10 and are 17-10-2 at home
They have played once this season and that was in December with the Panthers winning 6-5.
Pretty much the same records for where each team is playing so it’s tough to find a winner here. The odds are a coin flip here and I agree, this game could go either way.
Blues vs Capitals
Blues are 4-4-2 in last 10 and are in 6th in the Central. They are 12 points behind the 3rd place Wild. They are 13-12-3 and have a long way to go to get into the playoff picture.
The Caps are 5-2-3 in last 10 and are in 2nd place overall. At home they have gone 18-5-6.
They have played once this season with the Caps getting a dominant 8-1 win.
I like the Caps here and would like them to have better numbers in the stats but they don’t. They have a better GF/60 but the Blues have a better GA/60. I would have to take them in regulation but the numbers don’t favor them enough.
Flames vs Lightning
The Flames have won both games after the break but heading into it the lost 3 straight and 4 of 5. On the road they have gone 11-11-4.
The Lightning have picked a good time to go on a win streak. They have won 6 straight and are in 3rd in the Atlantic and have games in hand over the 1st and 2nd place teams.
Would have to take the Lightning in regulation which shouldn’t be a problem but Flames on a little streak so has me put off.
Sabres vs Hurricanes
They are 7-3 in last 10 and have won last 2 games in a row. It’s hard to back the Sabres with them sitting in 29th overall.
The Canes are 4-5-1 in last 10 and have lost their last 2 games.
With the Sabres basically eliminated and the Canes not playing very well, I’m passing.
Islanders vs Bruins
Both teams on 4 game losing skids so I’m avoiding this one.
Jackets vs Wings
Jackets are 5-4-1 in last 10 and won their last 2 games. They are 9-16-4 on the road.
The Wings have also won their last 2 games but are 8-1-1 in last 10. At home they’re 16-12-3.
Both teams are in 4th in their respective divisions. The Jackets are 6 points back of 3rd, the Wings are 4 back.
Looking at the Jackets road record and the way the Wings have played over the last 10 games I do like their chances. Plus the Wings have better numbers in Corsi, Fenwick, SF/60, SA/60, and both XGF and XGA.

Flyers vs Penguins
These teams just played each other 2 days ago so I’m passing.
Jets vs Predators
They last played on January 7th and the Jets won 5-2 and the Jets lead the season series 2-1.
The Jets played last night against the Sens and won 4-1. They have won 11 straight and have gone 19-9-0 on the road
The Predators are 2-8 in last 10 and have scored 3 goals in the 3 games since the break. They’re a team I avoid and this is yet another reason why.
The GF/60 and GA/60 and heavily in the Jets favor so much so that it’s enough for me to make a play here.

Wild vs Utah
Not touching the Wild with the injuries they are dealing with.
Utah haven’t given me a reason to back them yet this season.
Canucks vs Ducks
Canucks played last night so I’m staying away from them.
The Ducks on a 2 game losing skid and haven’t been that good at home going 13-12-2.
Going to pass on this game.
Blackhawks vs Knights
Obviously not going to touch the Blackhawks as they are the Blackhawks. 6-19-4 on the road so yeah.
The Knights are 4-4-2 in last 10 but at home they have gone 20-6-3.
They played last month with the Hawks, not a typo, winning 5-3.
Sure the Knights will probably win this game but to get any value we have to take them to win by 3 or more and I just don’t care to do that
