Well I had only 1 tip yesterday and it was a win. RIP Screech
Before that though I just want to apologize for the confusion with the odds of the tip yesterday. I went through all of the books and saw it was 2.25 at Bet 365 so went with them. Someone in the comments said they couldn’t find it at that price and when I went back to look the odds were then 1.84. I was sure the odds were what I had put. I take complete responsibility for the error. I must have misread them or something. I’ll have to get back to taking screenshots of each set of odds. Again I’m sorry.
But the tip was over 6 in the Canucks vs Canadiens game and the Habs went to work for us beating the Canucks 6-2 going over. With the win the Canadiens stopped the Canucks win streak at 4 games.
The Rangers beat the Penguins 3-1. The Pens scored first but the Rangers answered that with 3 unanswered goals for the win. We have to wonder if now with the DeAngelo drama behind them the Rangers turn things around.
The Bruins beat the Capitals 5-3. Chara scored first for the Caps, against his old team, who then added 2 more for the 3-0 lead. But the Bruins scored 5 unanswered goals to win 5-3. Pastrnak scored twice, his first goals of the season, in the win.
The Flames beat the Jets 4-3 in a shootout and the Lightning beat the Predators 5-2.
A nice night of NHL action for us with 9 games scheduled. Despite the number of games we couldn’t come up with anything we liked or agreed on. So no tips for today.
Game Thoughts:
Sabres vs Islanders:
The Sabres should take advantage of the Isles and their slump. But the Sabres are a team that I have no confidence in at the moment. Sure the Isles have lost 5 in a row but their last two losses were in overtime to a strong Flyers team. So maybe the Isles are about to turn things around.
11am Edit: Just a note this game was postponed due to COVID protocol
Stars vs Blue Jackets;
Initially I wanted to go with the Over in this game as it’s a rare 5. And then I read that Laine may make his Jackets debut. Sure Laine is an amazing goal scorer but it may take some time for him to adjust to his new team. This was one I liked but instead I’ll avoid it and kick myself when Laine plays and scores twice
Canucks vs Canadiens:
After yesterday’s crazy game between the two teams we have to wonder how this one will play out. It will be Demko and Allen in nets tonight so I will stay away from this game. Was leaning towards a Canucks win but who knows how they respond.
Hurricanes vs Blackhawks: To get any value here we would need to take Canes in regulation. The Hawks are bad but always find a way to keep it somewhat close. I like Canes to win just don’t like having to take them in regulation.
Coyotes vs Blues:
We likes the Blues to win but it’s another game where it would need to be in regulation. The Coyotes last 3 games have been decided by 1 goal. Nope
Flames vs Jets;
Played last night and it was a 4-3 shootout win for the Flames. To close to call in my opinion.
Wild vs Avalanche:
This is the 3rd game of 4 in a row where these teams play each other. The Wild lost the first one but won the next 4-3 in ot. With the Avalanche at home I would lean towards them winning but not confident enough in taking them in regulation.
Senators vs Oilers:
In the last game two nights ago the goals just kept coming. I wanted to go with the Over for this game until we dug a little deeper. The Canucks have worse defensive stats than then Oilers yet the Sens could only score once against them in three consecutive games. They have lost 8 straight and although they did score 5 times last game that was something rare for the Sens
Ducks vs Kings:
Liked Kings to win here until we saw all of the injuries the Kings are dealing with right now and decided to stay away from this game.
