We went 1-1 with the tips last night.
We won when we had over 5 in the Blackhawks vs Coyotes game and the Hawks won 4-3. With the win the Hawks snapped their 3 game losing streak. The Hawks came into this game having scored only once in their last 20 powerplays but went 2-4 in this one with the man advantage.
We had the Stars to beat the Jets but the Jets came away with the 4-3 win. Scheifele scored twice for the Jets and now has 5 goals in 4 games against the Stars this season.
Patrick Marleau scored his 500th career goal in the Sharks 4-1 win over the Canucks. He has scored all 500 goals playing for San Jose and is the 45th player to hit that number. The Blues picked up the first win since replacing Hitchcock with Yeo when they beat the Leafs 5-1.
5 games tonight and their start times are all within 30 minutes of each other. So it should be a great couple of hours to enjoy some hockey.
Blue Jackets vs Penguins Betting Tips:
When i saw the Over/Under at 6 I was going to avoid it until I started looking deeper at this game.
These teams are battling with each other for 2nd in the Metro Division.
This is the #1 & #2 ranked offenses in the league both scoring over 3.30 GPG.
The Jackets last 4 games have had high goal totals: 10, 7, 6 and 13. The Penguins have alson had high scoring games: 6, 7, 3, 6, 8, 5 and 15.
They met once this year and it was the Jackets winning, or I should say destroying, the Penguins 7-1.
So all signs point to a high scoring game so I’m going to go with Over 6

Islanders vs Red Wings Betting Tips:
The Islanders have won 5 times in the 6 games under new coach Doug Weight. And 3 of those came against some top teams: the Jackets, the Canadiens and the Capitals.
The Wings are struggling right now. The have lost 5 straight and have a 10-12-4 record at home. If they get scored in first it seems all but over for them.
They matchup well over the last 10 games but with the Isles playing so well under their new coach I like their chances in this game.

Grand Salami Away Goals ML (2.35)
I think the away teams are going to outscore the home teams tonight, and this way we have a little rooting action for every game. Jackets, Oilers and Islanders are all scoring over 3/G the last two weeks. Ducks, Oilers and Islanders are all playing really good D right now. Red Wings and Canes are both scoring less that 1.8 G/g over the last two weeks. Devils have not been a particularly potent offense at home scoring just 2.3 G/g there this season. If the Jackets can keep it close with the Pens (or beat them) I think this one has a good chance to cash.
Seems like a good pick to me. I see all away teams taking it tonight with the exception of maybe the oilers.
Mixed results in the last couple of days. I’ve had the Caps-1.5 cashed in at 2.95 against the Bruins, but the Flames beat the Wild. Yesterday I had the Habs to beat the Flyers and Chicago-1.5 for 2.95 just like the Caps the other day. It seems that I can not win with the Hawks, whatever I play they just screw me over. I’ve said that before there, but I keep playing their matches anyway, and lose every single time.
Today I like the Isles and the Penguins. Maybe the Ducks for this price, but maybe I’ll narrow it down to only one today.
I like PIT ML tonight – Pittsburgh’s home record even against teams at the top of the standings is phenomenal. I also think they’ll want revenge against Columbus for getting their ass kicked last time.
Also placing a smaller bet on Calgary ML. Good price and I also think Calgary is the better team overall and won’t lose 2 straight games to New Jersey. They should have some confidence after stomping on Minnesota.

Rest of your picks is good, with a little doubt of the Jackets TT over 2.5
FL is a risky call, I know. They will be on their “bye” after this game. They get a lot of scoring back with several guys off injured list. Reimer has been decent. Ducks traveling and crossing three time zones. A little gut feeling involved in this pick. Everyone is on Anaheim, so this is also a contrarian play. BJs have scored over 3 goals a game in 9/10 when faced with the front end of a back to back. Pitt likes to play that wide-open style at home. I expect a back-n-forth game. BJs get a ton of 5-on-5 goals and are spectacular on the PP.
I’m still thinking about playing Pens-Jackets 6,5+ at @2.3 but I’m not really sure.
I worry about Pens scoring with Sheary and Malkin both out
Saw that stat! I figure the influx of guys returning from IR and Luongo NOT in net gives them a shot. I have your same thoughts about Pens. It wouldn’t surprise me to see BJs stealing this.

Still licking my wounds after last night’s prime picks got up-ended. Flyers took it to Montreal who better figure out a way to win on the road against worse teams and the Blues finally found some cajones and gave Leafs a thrashing. I’ve been keen on the Leafs, but after their past two games I can’t support them unless it’s part of an over/under. On to tonight…
I am onboard with S&G’s picks. Plus, I like CBJ to beat Pens who are without top six forwards Malkin and Sheary, both of whom are key to their offence.
