6 games last night and I had 1 tip. I had the Devils to win in regulation against the Canucks. They won but needed overtime.
The Panthers pounded the Lightning 7-1. Tkachuk, fresh off of winning the MVP at the All-Star game scored twice and had 3 assists. The Panthers took 49 shots in the win.
The Rangers beat the Flames 5-4 in overtime in a rough game, the Isles beat the Flyers 2,1, the Coyotes beat the Wild 3-2 and the Stars beat the Ducks 3-2 in a shootout.
6 more games tonight.
Avalanche vs Penguins
The Avs will be getting Byram and Nichushkin back for this game. They have gone 7-3 over last 10 and are on the road here where they have gone 14-9-0 this season.
The Pens kind of stumbled into the break losing their last 2 games and going 4-3-3. At home they have gone 14-6-4.
This is a tough game to call and I could make a case for either team.
Sharks vs Lightning
The Sharks are currently 16 points out of the playoffs picture. They have gone 3-4-3 in last 10, 10-13-4 on the road and are ranked 19th in GPG and 29th in GAPG.
The Lightning will be looking to bounce back after their game last night. They have won the last two games against the Sharks but both were by one goal.
Would need to take the Lightning -1.5 and the odds for that aren’t worth it so I have to pass.
Kraken vs Islanders
The Kraken are in 1st in the Pacific but they can’t be comfortable just yet. They are tied with the Kings and 1 point ahead of the Knights with less games played. Over last 10 they have gone 6-3-1.
The Isles played last night and beat the Flyers 2-1 and are now on a 3 game win streak.
On the road the Kraken are 16-5-2, at home the Isles are 15-9-2. The Kraken are the 5th ranked for GPG and the Isles are the 8th for GAPG.
I want to take the Kraken here but the Isles have been playing well. In games where they are playing after playing the previous day they are 6-3-1.
Oilers vs Red Wings
For the Oilers the time is now for them to go on a winning streak and close out the season strong. They have about 30 games left and are in the 1st wild card spot but not comfortable. They have 60 points and the Pacific leading Kraken have 63. The Flames have 57 and they are in 9th.
The Wings are 7 points back of the wild card and will need to play almost perfect to climb their way back into the playoff picture with the teams they are chasing.
With them still within reach of the division lead I expect the Oilers to win games like this against teams not in the playoff picture.

Knights vs Predators
The Knights are 2-6-2 over their last 10 and have dropped 4 straight. The Preds are 6-4 and on a 3 game win streak.
The Knights are in 3rd in the Pacific with 62 points. They have lost their last 4 games and will need to fix the issues that they have had of late as going 2-6-2 in last 10 and over half way through the season isn’t a good sign. On the road they have gone 15-5-4 which is much better than their home record of 14-13-0.
The Preds are in 10th in the West and are 3 points behind the Avalanche who are in the final wild card spot.
With the Knights struggling I want to see if they can turn things around before I tip them.
Ducks vs Blackhawks
Ya I have no idea who wins this game.
Both teams have been bad this season. The Ducks are in 30th overall with 37 points and the Hawks are 31st with 34.
It’s an easy skip for me.
Tampa Bay -2.5 +190
Nashville Filip Forsberg to score +140
Nothing yet.
Tonight’s games will start giving us good forecasts about various teams. Are the Oilers going to be a playoff force, or will more inconsistency and defensive do them in? Will Colorado rise out of its injury problems and go on a Stanley-style winning streak? Will Seattle show itself a force against the whole league the rest of the season, or do they have any major weakness? Is Nashville for real or will Vegas play that role better? Finally, which team is willing to chase after Draft Pick #1 with the most poorly disguised trash playing?
