A 3-1 night with the NHL Tips.
The only game that let us down was the Leafs/Habs Over. I’ll be honest I wasn’t paying super attention to that one as I had XFL, UFC and also other hockey and basketball games going at the same time so not fully sure what went on there. From what I saw Campbell looked fairly solid though. Good for him and a shame he couldn’t log the win or shutout.
We won with the Jets and Bruins both in regulation. Nice convincing win for the Jets after a bit of a shaky start. Coyotes gave the Bruins a run for their money but like I said yesterday – Bruins are just an awesome team. One of the few teams in a spot like that I can sit there and feel confident.
We also won with the over in the Hurricanes/Knights game. Fun game to end the nigth and the over 6.5 was smashed with ease in an 11 goal thriller thanks to a big third from the Hurricanes.
Flyers rebounded hard from that Devils loss to thump the Caps. Devils also managed to keep it going with the win over the Kings.
Good day of hockey. Went 1-2 in the non-NHL tips as both the AHL picks were in regulation, and both win in overtime. Bastards. Nice to see a 2.45 winner though.
5 games today. And looking through them, I unfortunately have no tips. Here are my thoughts on each game.
Absolutely no value on the Bruins. It would have to be the handicap and I don’t like taking a team on a handicap on a back to back on the road. They probably should cover it. But Red Wings have Bruins number lately having won the last 4 against them. Just not worth it in my opinion. In saying that Red Wings have allowed an empty net goal 15 out of 28 times so it’s not the worst ratio there. Bruins have also scored 10 in 25 against an empty net. So if you’re looking to take Bruins -1.5 I think those stats are good enough to back it.
Buffalo and Anaheim have both the same 0.7% chance to make the playoffs. I actually like the Ducks there. Starting to get the points going. 5 out of their last 6 games they haven’t lost in regulation (and the loss was to Tampa). They’re the better performing team. Sabres got that win over the Rangers but the Rangers just didn’t show up there. This was one I looked at very closely and it comes down to the odds. If the Ducks were 2.20 or 2.25 incl OT/SO I believe they’d be worth a bet.
After that Rangers loss, I wanted to back them here. I feel like they will bounce back with a ton of effort today. But considering everything on the line for them in that Buffalo game? Bleh. I think if you’re looking for a bet today, Rangers in regulation is the bet to make. That’s one where I’ve went through everything trying to convince me to back it but I can’t.
I generally avoid all Blackhawks games right now. I Just can’t figure them out and can’t trust them. I like what the Jets have been doing but this is a test for them. A coinflip of a game and the odds have it right.
Avs/Wild I feel the odds are spot on there and there is no value.
With two tight games Avs vs Wild and Blackhawks vs Jets, who wins?
