Only 2 games yesterday and there wasn’t any tips.
The Rangers beat the Canucks 4-3. They were down 3-1 early in the 2nd but still stayed in the game. Chytil scored to give him 7 goals in the last 5 games.
The other game of the night was the Wild vs the Stars and the Stars won 4-1. Oettinger was great in the win making 38 saves. Jamie Benn scored giving him 45 points this season when he had only 46 last year. It’s nice to see him have a good season after some down years.
Back to a busier night with 7 games scheduled.
Oilers vs Flyers
The Oilers have won their last 2 games and the next 3 games they play are against beatable teams. They need to beat these teams to climb up the Pacific Divsion standings. They have 62 points in 51 games and the Kings, who are in 3rd, have 63 points in 53 games. After this game they play the Sens, Canadiens and the Wings again. So it’s a crucial time for them.
The Flyers are in 12th in the East and are 8 points back of the Pens who are in 8th. They have a long way to go to get into postseason discussions and I’m not sure they have the team to do that.
I look at the Oilers road record of 16-7-1 vs the Flyers home record of 10-13-2 and the Oilers winning 9 of their last 10 I think there’s enough to back taking them in regulation.
Oilers win in regulation

Avalanche vs Lightning
The Lightning are in 3rd in the Atlantic and no matter the outcome of this game they will still be there tomorrow.
The Avalanche are in 8th in the West and need to have a great end of the year as they are being chased by the Flames who have the same amount of points but have played more games.
The Avs have gone 7-1-2 in last 10 and the Lightning have gone 6-3-1 including losing their last 2. This is the first game between these teams this season.
Should be a good game between two strong teams. I’m just going to watch it instead of having a tip for it.
Kraken vs Devils
The Kraken are in 2nd in the Pacific and the Devils 2nd in the Metro.
The Kraken have 63 points, the 1st place Knights have 64 playing 2 extra games and the 3rd place Kings have 62 playing 3 more.
The Devils are 6 points behind the Canes and 6 ahead of the Rangers.
On the road the Kraken have gone 16-6-2 and at home the Devils 14-10-2. The Kraken are 5th and the Devils 6th in GPG, the Kraken are 3rd and the Devils 4th in shots allowed per game.
This should be a good game and I have no idea who comes out on top. They have played 3 times since the Kraken joined the league with the Kraken winning two of them, both in extra time.
Sharks vs Panthers
Both teams have won their last 2 games, over last 10 the Sharks are 3-4-3 and the Panthers 6-2-2.
On the road the Sharks are 11-3-4 and at home Florida is 14-7-3. The Panthers are the 7th ranked team in GPG and in 1st for shots on goal.
All signs point to a Panthers win but I would need to take them -1.5. I don’t think it’s a bad play but looking at the previous games between these teams and the last 3 were all Panthers wins and all 3 needed extra time.
Flames vs Red Wings
The Flames are on the outside of the playoff picture but are tied with the Avs who are in 8th. They need to play well over these next 4 games against beatable teams; the Wings, Sabres, Sens and Wings again.
The Wings have a a few teams they need to pass just to get within reach of the wild card.
The Flames are better than the Wings in almost all stats with shooting % being the exception.
In my opinion the Flames are better than their record would suggest but maybe that’s because a friend of mine is a Flames fan and his nonstop Flames talk has corrupted me.
I do like the Flames but we would have to take them in regulation and their road record, 10-8-8, doesn’t help give me the confidence to make it a tip.
Canucks vs Islanders
Horvat will get to face his former team so could be interesting.
The Canucks played last night and lost 4-3. In the 2nd game of a back to back they Canucks have gone 4-4-1.
The Isles are playing well right now. They have won 4 straight and in their last game the looked amazing shutting out the Kraken 4-0.
At home they have gone 16-9-2 and Horvat has given them a spark when they really needed it. They are tied with the Pens who are in 8th but have played 4 more games so they will need to continue this strong play.
With the Canucks being able to keep games close, their last 2 were 1 goal games, I can’t pull the trigger on an Isles regulation play.
Knights vs Wild
This should be a good one. The Knights are in 1st in the Pacific but the Kraken are right there with them.
The Wild played last night and lost. They are in 3rd in the Central. In games with no days rest between them they have gone 4-2-0.
I really don’t know who is going to win this game. Both teams are good and should make the postseason but for this one I’m skipping.
Tampa Bay -125
Got this when it opened and quickly jumped on it. The -125 price basically made the Lightning and Avs equal teams and I don’t think that’s correct. Tampa now being priced -140.
Edmonton Connor McDavid to score -145
