Leave it to me to ruin our winning streak by taking the Leafs.
I had them to win with ease against the Coyotes and it seemed like a safe pick with the way both teams have been playing. Yeah they lost 2-1. Coyotes goalie Vejmelka made 45 saves for the win where Mrazek faced only 18 shots for the Leafs. I figured Matthews would have a big game with his parents in the stands and he scored once but that was all the Leafs could manage.
The Stars beat the Kraken 5-2 and Pavelski scored 5 points and the Bruins beat the Habs 5-1 with Marchand scoring a hatty.
We have 11 games scheduled for tonight.
Flyers vs Bruins Betting Tips:
The Flyers have dropped 5 in a row heading into this game, the Bruins have won their last 3.
It would seem like a safe pick to go with the Bruins here but Rask is starting. He is and has been an amazing goalie but he hasn’t played in a while and had signed with Boston’s AHL affiliate on Thursday with the intention of making some starts but Providence had their games postponed on Friday and Saturday.
I’m sure he will be fine but he hasn’t played in so long I have to wonder how long it will take him to get back to regular season form. For that reason I have to skip this game.
Canucks vs Lightning Betting Tips:
This will be a game where the Canucks show that what the did when Boudreau first arrived was who they are or was it just a hot streak.
After taking their first regulation loss with Boudreau as head coach they now play the powerhouse Lightning who are the heavy favorites.
I’m taking the Canucks +1.5. So if they win or lose by a goal then we win the bet. Looking at these teams with an empty net, Canucks have allowed 5 on 14. Not great but not the worst. Tampa against an empty net have scored 4 in 16 which isn’t good and actually conceded 4 in 16. So basically if there is an empty net and Tampa are up by 1 – I’d have more faith in Canucks scoring than Tampa. I keep going back and forth on this but going with my first thought.

Jackets vs Canes Betting Tips:
These teams have played twice this year with the Canes winning both. The first a 5-1 win on October 23rd the next a 7-4 win on New Years day.
The Canes have been playing well over their last 10 going 8-1-1. The Jackets are 3-6-1 over their last 10 and have lost their last 3 road games.
The Canes have played only 3 games this month winning the first two and losing the last in OT to the Panthers. Both of those wins were by 3 goals so when they win its usually a big one.

Jets vs Wings Betting Tips:
The Jets have 10 players out with 5 of them on the Covid protocol list. The Wings have lost 3 straight.
Tough game to call here. With the Jets have so many players our and going 5-4-1 over last 10 I can’t back them and the Wings have lost their last 3 so no confidence in them here either.
Devils vs Islanders Betting Tips:
Both teams are at the bottom of the Metro Divison.
The Devils have 11 players out and 7 of them on the protocol list, the Isles have only 1 player out with Pulock on the IR.
With all the players out for the Devils it would seem like they’re the right team to pick but the Isles haven’t given us a reason to have any confidence in them this season so it’s an easy skip for this game.
Sabres vs Predators Betting Tips:
Sabres have lost their last 6 in a row, the Predators have won their last 5.
I like the Predators to win this game but if I took them -1.5 the odds are only around 1.76 which seems too low for the risk involved.
Kraken vs Blues Betting Tips:
The Kraken have lost 7 in a row and the Blues have won their last 2.
The Blues have 5 players in the Covid protocol list but against the Kraken that shouldn’t be a huge deal.
I am leaning towards a Blues win here as they have been able to beat strong teams this season but they have also lost to weaker teams like the Coyotes, Hawks, Oilers and Wings. I’ll skip as this could be the game the Kraken snap their losing skid.
Canadiens vs Blackhawks Betting Tips:
If I didn’t have to work tonight, me and Graeme would for sure be watching this game together drinking beer and shit talking the whole time.
I have no idea who wins this game so it’s a skip for me.
Senators vs Flames Betting Tips:
Both teams on 3 game losing skids so one of those will end tonight.
The Flames probably win this game but they haven’t been very good at home going 4-3-4. I have no confidence in the Sens at the moment so I have to skip this game.
Penguins vs Kings Betting Tips:
The Penguins won 10 in a row, lost to the Stars and then won against the Ducks. The Kings have won 2 straight and have gone 6-3-1 over their last 10 games.
The Penguins are almost healthy with Crosby, Malkin and Carter all back. Rust is still out but having those 3 all healthy is going to push the Penguins up the standings.

Rangers vs Sharks Betting Tips:
The Rangers are on a but of a slump heading into this game going 5-4-1 over last 10. The Sharks have won their last 3 games.
The Rangers have 4 and the Sharks have 2 on the Covid protocol list. I’m skipping this game as it’s tough to call a winner. I like the Rangers to win but with the Sharks at home and on a 3 game win streak I have no idea.

I wouldn’t risk that. Pens on the road, non-Conference game, both teams have a good “goals against” number, so the odds of it being an Under game are just too high. It’s likely going to gravitate to about 5, so it’s a coin toss after that.
Kings have been good defensively and Pens are in the middle of a grinding road trip

Lean to WIN moneyline: Nashville
My concern with Nashville is that they play Boston next and may take tonight off (non-Conference game) if they have important play-through injuries, but they should otherwise be rested enough and win tonight, but not risking the unlikely puckline.
