No tips yesterday but it was a great day of hockey.
The Islanders never trailed in their game and pounded the Rangers 7-2. Barzal was amazing scoring twice and adding 3 assists. He leads all rookies with 44 points.
Thanks to 4 unanswered goals, the Flyers beat the Devils 5-3. This was the Flyers 4th straight win but still sit in 6th place in the Metro.
The Oilers beat the Knights 3-2 in OT. The Oilers are the only team in the league that has beat the Knights twice.
With the games start times I have to get these out quickly.
Red Wings vs Blackhawks Betting Tips:
Abdelkader is out and so is Helm. The Wings will miss those two vets. The come into this game on a two game losing skid.
The Hawks have their break after this game. They have lots of ground to cover and are doing a good job at doing that gaining points in 7 of their last 9 games. They’re in 6th place in the Central and are 9 points behind the 1st place Jets with two games in hand.
The Hawks at home and heading into their break, I like them to win against their former Central Division rivals.

Rangers vs Penguins Betting Tips:
The Rangers have had a rough go lately. The have lost 3 of 4 and got beat bad yesterday 7-2 against the Isles. They will be looking to bounce back in this one.
The Penguins have had a great run since the new year. They are 4-1 this month and have scored 19 times during this run.
These teams are tied in the standings with 49 points. They will need to have a solid finish to the year to climb the standings and close the 10 point gap the Capitals have on them.
Last 10 games between these teams have averaged 6.80 GPG. I like that to continue

Why do you always have to pick the opposite sides that I choose? Do you want me to have a heart attack?Lol
:))))
he lives and dies by dogs
Betting on dog can be profitable. Like i said, make some good cash betting live.
what is the strategy betting live? I don’t usually do that
Usually place one bet and wait. If i lose stop, means is not my night. If i win place another bet. And so on.
When you’re looking to bet a live game, what are you looking for?
Good value first. Read my reply to Johnny Hockey to make a idea.
I love to play the Over in the last 10 minutes when a team is in front (with one goal).
Hi SD,
Mind if I add my thoughts on live betting?
by all means, i’m always looking for some insights.
I can only speak to my experience with Bodog.
The best way to introduce yourself to live betting (If your bookie offers it) is watch a couple of games and monitor the lines from start to finish. Some examples. The longer the time elapses without a goal, the numbers drop to the over/under and the odds change. Every time a goal is scored, odds change. A PP comes up, odds change again. There’s lots of variables that affect the odds. Main thing to keep in mind is don’t get ‘sucked in.’
When your pick is playing well and you want to bet on them to score the next goal, one bad bounce, the other team scores and your screwed. As a result, You may be tempted to bet on your pick to score the next goal ( odds change again) and the other team scores again. Now your in the whole:(
The bookies are hoping you get that false sense of security when your team plays well, make a bet, but as you know, the tables can change so quickly and before you know it, your pick loses:( Yes you can win a lot but you can lose a lot very quickly so watching a few games before you try it is really important IMO. Hope this helps:)
thank you for your comments and tips, always welcome and appreciated
Just wanted to add.
Hawks/ Wings game is a great example of how you can loose at ‘live betting’. Wings score 1st, you wait, and they score the 2nd one. You think they’ve got to score on Mrazek, so you bet the Hawks to score next but the Wings score. You lose. You’re tempted again, to bet Hawks score but Wings score and you lose again. Even when your team is playing well, What you see on the screen, doesn’t always translate into a goal so tread with caution:)
It seems to me that opportunities exist when the better team is playing well but gets behind by a bad bounce and the odds are against them to win. That would be a good time to bet live.
Hey,
Right now, for example, Hurricanes are behind 3-0. If you’re confident they can score on Smith you could give it a shot or Smith could get a shutout and you lose. Because they change the lines continuously,
they want you to feel pressured to make a quick decision and you want to avoid that. Sorry for sounding so negative. I would hate to see you lose a lot of money.
Don’t understand anything 😀
Ducks over 2.5, placed in last 6minutes.
Sharks-Coyotes over 9.5, placed in last 10 minutes.
Shaks ML, after Arizona score the 5th.
Oilers ML, at the end of the second period.
Duck to win first period.
thank you, did not see this comment previously
haha neither did I
Rough night last night. I made the mistake of sticking a boat load on Vegas. Luckly Wild and Bruins kept me from dropping too much ( I still dropped a lot)… This last week or so has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Only positive about that is that there have been ups to compensate for the downs. Right now, however, I am pretty cold after ending 2017 hot. Its the nature of the game I suppose. Let’s hope today is a comfortable day and I start getting hot again.
Hawks Reg (75%)- The defence has really knuckled down for the Hawks lately, and their offence isn’t looking bad either. Detroit have been awful on the road, and I thought they were worth a punt yesterday. They were not. Chicago has allowed only 1 goal in 4 of their last 5 at home with the exception being the Golden Knights. Detroit on the other hand have scored only 1 goal in their last 3 on the road whilst allowing 10. Hawks have won the last 5 at home to Detroit and I hope they can manage a regulation win today. If Mrazek is in goal jump on this hard.
POTD- Flames ML (70%)- At even odds, and with a 6 game winning streak I have to take the Flames. They’ve allowed 3 goals or less in their last 17 games! This team is looking motivated as hell to notch wins, and although Carolina has been good at home they’re only 2-3 in their last 5 . Canes have allowed 12 goals in their last 5 games, and those defensive holes are what will cost them the game. I’m not overly concerned that Carolina has had success in this matchup, and at these odds I am more than happy to take the surging road team.
Wild Reg (70%) – I was hoping the odds on ML would be as decent as last night. They weren’t so reg is the only play here. Canucks have had success in Minnesota, and showed they still can win games with their win over Columbus. However I’ll say it again, with the Canucks injuries issues right now, asking them to string together back to back wins is asking a lot. The Canucks haven’t managed back to back wins since Horvat and Sutter went out injured, and I don’t think they have much chance against Minnesota with their current home form. The Wild dominated the Jets for large parts of last nights game, and I don’t see why they shouldn’t do the same tonight. Just 3 of the Canucks last 20 road games have needed OT, and just twice in the last 20 meetings with the Wild in Minnesota have gone to OT so I think regulation is fairly safe.
Leaning Pens, but they’re a side I struggle to gauge, so avoiding for now.
Here’s hoping we manage to scrape back some cash tonight boys! GL!
Lol “defence has really knuckled down for the hawks” – I present to you the return of the “No hawks!” Rule
I’m onboard. Fool me once, fool me twice
“If Mrazek is in goal jump on this hard” – famous last words.
Mrazek was a real beast this game.
Nice win with the Oilers last night 🙂
First Look:
DOUBLE -> Hawks ML & Wild ML
SINGLE -> Pens/Rangers Over 5.5
NOT a nice win with Oilers last night ? My Vegas bet was ruined
Give the Oilers credit, but it sucked. I guess they got some much needed motivation from their dominant win the night before
Update: Mrazek in net! 🙂
Blackhawks win Reg with 5 units
Finally we share a pick lol
I just saw sth like this coming. I hate such”easy” picks :/
Its not looking good…
FML what a disaster. Losing like all my bankroll
Should bet on all underdogs for the next 2 week lol
At this rate, just bet the opposite of everything I post lol. Feel like I’m bad luck right now
i have a lot of thoughts like that recently
In the last week if I had bet the opposite of everything I have I would probably be far better off
Seriously!
***Update*** – Abdelkader and Helm are injured for Wings, which makes Hawks an even better play!
No it doesn’t you dumbshit.
Not much I can add to Oliver’s post (well done buddy).
Maybe Arto can chime in, but I just don’t see the Flames as a dog in this game. If they aren’t the hottest team in the league they are close to it. They have no significant injuries and should be well rested. No doubt the Canes will bring it today, it’s the first home game before their new owner, but they are outmatched against a Flames team that is riding a lot of momentum before the break. No team wants to go into the break on a low note so expect the Flames to be motivated as well.
Blackhawks should wipe the ice with Detroit today. Regulation is the only option since the line is too high to take ML. There might be some good props in there too. Personally I’ve got 1u on TT 3.5+ PL is an option too
S&G’s tip of NYR-Pens over is solid. It’s always a dog fight between these two teams. Rangers are going to be motivated to get points after their embarrassing loss to the Isles yesterday (that’ll teach them to look ahead) and Pens have finally found some traction. Jarry isn’t Murray so expect a few to squeeze by him. 10 of the 13 games between these two teams in the past 3 years have gone over. I don’t expect that to change today. PL Pens is an option as well.
Minnesota should take care of the Nucks, but I’d only take ML on this one. Nucks just got back Baertschi and he’s got the ability to add some scoring punch. I don’t want to overstate his return, but sometimes getting a player back gives a slumping team a shot in the arm. Nucks also have some to feel pretty good about their win in against CBJ and could leverage that success with a decent effort against a better Wild team.
GLTA SDB
Im really conflicted on the Flames tonight.. i’ve been riding the train so far but these are really dangerous games for streak snapping. Canes played a heck of a H&H against the Caps and not too long ago they were as hot as anyone so the ability is there. They also seem to match up pretty well against the Flames, Smith can’t buy a win against Carolina lately and if Darling is in he got a big reliever win against the Caps + riding a 2 game win streak over the Flames.
Basically to put things in perspective, my system shows Dallas was in a similar spot last year when they snapped a Flyers 10 game winning streak at home. Philly scored 1st and then the Stars came back.
But there’s also the dynamic of the Flames probably looking for revenge after the loss they suffered earlier in the season, but it’s tough to judge how much that matters in the end.
Overall i think it could go both ways, personally i think this is a good spot to jump off the train and just see how it plays out. Im thinking of possibly going for the Flames 1st period but not decided yet.
Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. You didn’t mention the break as a factor, I think some teams take their foot off the pedal before a break and others want to finish strong. Hard to know what’s going on in the Flames locker room, but this team seems cohesive and motivated. I’m taking the decent odds and betting on them ML
Yeah i think the Flames are going come ready to play so that shouldn’t be an issue, it’s just more about can the Canes overpower them down the stretch.
In any case at those odds Flames certainly aren’t a bad play.
Monahan out, makes things even more interesting.
why can’t i have learned that before I placed my bet on Flames?
When it rains it pours i guess
I think perhaps we forgot. No Hawks????
I mentioned Blackhawks ;-0
I mean its 2-0 Wings…. we forgot our no hawks rule…
Games not over by a long shot, I think you’ll see Blackhawks put some goals up
Really not looking good. FML bankroll getting murdered lately.
Me too. I bet Steelers today too and they are getting destroyed by Jaguars
Calgary and Wild are my last hopes.
The same pics as everyone hawk/wild reg and ml.
But also thinking about taking pens but why are nobody backing them, is there a reason?
Hank Lundqvist
I was looking at the standings and noticed a couple of interesting things: first, Knights and Avs are both 8-1-1 in last 10. The only team with a better record in the last 10 are the Bruins. And don’t forget the Flames who are on a 7-2-1 roll. On the other end of things, the Oilers, who just beat the league’s best team, share the dubious distinction of having only won 3 or fewer games in the last 10 with the Sabres, Yotes and Nucks
Good value for Blackhawks ML, 3.2.
Placed 1u on that.
thank you, I see your point
What’s your thoughts on Wild v Vancouver tonight?
Wild aren’t doing so great this season. Mind you, neither are Vancouver.
I’d back Wild in today’s game.
Missed the email alert for this today. Hop onto my bookmaker to stream the Red Wings game and they’re 2-0 up!
From what I’ve seen, Chicago are aggressive to the blue line then their attacks just fall apart.
They’re just aggressive period. Nothing is clicking. Bad passes, bad shots, bad defence, bad set up, bad turnovers.
Not to mention bad penalties.
Hahaha. Take the hint CHI !
what a save
FWIW i have a lot of confidence on the Wild to get shit done tonight.
I hope you’re right
I really hope you’re right. Fuck me I’m getting my ass handed to me by the NHL this week
You and me both, fuck sakes .
Looking at it more after the 1st period i might have rushed it, missed a couple of things pre-game, hopefully doesn’t end up biting me in the butt :/
Red Wings are all over Blackhawks. Last goal was just a matter of time. Blackhawks look completely lost and shown no effort in the 3rd period. Hoping for a different effort from Flames and Wild
Or Canes and Canucks.:))
ha! of course
J. Skinner to score with 3 units
I’m with you.
my picks for today
luckily i was 5 min late for the hawks game
lets hope the other 2 games go in our favor !!
if anyone needs any analysis for the nba games ask.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on NBA
im too late to tell u for richardson and miami
but tj warren has been hot lately, indiana is playing without turner and most probably sabonis so thats a +, also 20.5 is really low for him going over tonight
mccollum on the other hand he is facing butler hard matchup, lillard is playing lots of shots there, so yeah
also if u have chance bet courtney lee +12.5
Who did you take Flames ?
what do u mean?
i took flames to either win or draw (regular), i didnt feel that confident for them to win especially after reading your analysis haha and your bad luck thing 😀
Am I the only one who’s thinking Canucks tonight? Great value
zip it!!! lol
Well! Dubnyk in net so shouldn’t be a problem for the wild. But Canucks could pull of a “dirty win” thinking about under 5,5 as well
SDB
Is the form of Boeser not something to be worried about? I don’t normally place on Wild. They’re a WILDcard to me.
Input appreciated.
He is not able to carry this team. Parise is back with Wild and that helps a lot
Me.
If Skinner will score i bet 3u on them. But only if Skinner score.
Even though I’m from Vancouver, I’m taking the Wild tonight lol
Shut yo mouth
Well, they won
Finally one game going my way
Flames on fire (get it?)
Fingers crossed they stay good for you!
thanks brother
did u bet on wilds as well?
I did, tailed Arto & OT
i hope they win it in regular
Now let’s go Wild and keep that flame burning !
excuse my ignorance, but why do you call the montreal canadiens the habs
I wondered that too, so last year I looked it up, this is what I came up with.
The Canadiens are called ‘The Habs’ because it’s short for Les Habitants (early farmers of Quebec) , which is what many french supporters of the team believe the H in the middle of the logo to stand for. However, it stands for Hockey, in the team’s official name, Club de Hockey Canadiens
If I’m completely wrong someone please correct 🙂
Tres bien! Perfect description:) Very impressed that you had the interest and took the time to learn some history about the club.
Bonne journee! Have a great day!
Bonnie Journee!!!
thanks…who needs google when you have the betnhl.ca community
I agree!!
Today’s picks:
Playing big on Minnesota ML (I’m thinking they’ll take it in regulation though but just to be safe I took ML)
Parlay: Minnesota ML and Penguins/Rangers Over
Best of luck everyone! Hope the Wild get the job done!
