A nice 2-0 night yesterday.

The Jackets got the big 4-1 win in confident fashion, and that one wasn’t too much of a sweat.

I was particularly happy about that Flyers play because I was ready to pass on that game entirely. As I was wrapping up my brief preview of the game, I started to notice in the data more just how more favoured Philly were despite being underdogs and on the road. That one felt pretty good.

Glad I didn’t go with my gut on Tampa because they were unable to cover the spread against the Ducks and barely won.

Kings got their shooting boots back which was nice to see. Man was it last season or the season before where the Kings were my go-to team for a large stretch of the season. I gained a lot of fondness for them over that time. One of those teams I find myself rooting for more primarily thanks to betting.

Very small slate today with just two games.

Hurricanes vs Kn*ghts:

Carolina struggling a bit again it looks like. Hosting the team who shall not be named. Seriously they have burnt me twice, then Scott learned what they are like. To make it even “funnier” they squeezed in that win against Minnesota during those three games.

So yeah I ain’t touching it. The metrics are very tight – I think I’d give the edge to Carolina but who the hell knows.

Sabres vs Penguins:

Penguins come in on a big slump and head to Buffalo, who are coming off a solid win.

Pens have better CF% and FF%. Scoring less, conceding more. Better xGF but worse xGA/60 Bookies seem to have the odds right for this one. No play although the over has merit IF the Pens can get scoring.

Back tomorrow with the usual big Saturday line-up.
