Sorry for the delay in tips today. Was just swamped all morning and couldn’t really focus on the NHL tips much. I also was sluggish this morning. Thankfully the guy at Starbucks introduced me to a “red eye” – which is a coffee with a shot of espresso in it. One venti of that and I am pumped and raring to go.
We’ve been having a few mailing list issues the last few days. If you don’t receive tips by 1pm EST be sure to visit the site. We have the tips posted by around 11am EST 90% of the time. We use a free mailing server so unfortunately can’t complain too much!
6 games tonight – lets see what we’ve got today. I’ll be short in the write-ups due to wanting to get the tips out today as soon as possible.
I also had a nice big write-up on the Capitals vs Ducks with the Capitals -1.5 as the tip – and that game is postponed. Blah.
Rangers vs Hurricanes: The New York Rangers have really struggled as of late. You have to go back to mid-November when they last won 2 games in a row which is insane considering how they played early in the season.
They’re a team you really need to take on a game by game basis. I had a feeling they would beat Philly the other night and they did that for a win – and I have a similar feeling against the Canes. Rangers to win.
Senators vs Islanders: I’m taking the Ottawa Senators for the upset win tonight. I just see really nice value on them here. They have a good recent history against the Islanders and they’re actually not too shabby at home. Islanders are below average on the road and yeah – taking the Senators here.

Overtime System: Likes Canes/Rangers to go to overtime. 3.50 odds.

OHL Betting Tips:
Going to take a rather risky Ottawa 67s -1.5 tonight. They face the Oshawa Generals. Ottawa beat them back in November 6-2 and are looking good at the moment while the Generals are struggling.
Bet the OHL at:

Islanders have been awful in games after long breaks, this one being 4 days since they last played losing in a shootout to the canucks at home. Ottawa got hosed last night by the devils giving 5 in the first. Still like the isles in this one they need to keep pace in the east and prove they can come out with some intensity and get those legs churning getting the win on the road. I agree with the rangers pick as well
Im also going to tip the blues on the road vs the Avs. Valarmov has been good but like blues on the streak they are riding.
Maybe you should not look for the winner of the match Sens – Islanders? over 5 goals looks reliable. Islanders had a 4 day break and will have a lot of strength, and Sens after yesterday’s defeat will be more motivated to show their fans a good game. I think we will see a good match and a lot of goals.
No apology necessary!
Sens/NYI
Both teams have 2 wins in last 5 gms; the result could go either way depending on:
For the the Isles: will they play rusty or rested?
For the Sens? Can they compete without Methot & Turris who play an average 20min a game?
OHL
The Generals traded some of their talented players before the deadline & that explains their 5 game losing streak; The tip for the 67’s to beat the Generals at -1.5 makes sense; Ironically & in case you didn’t know this, the Generals traded their Captain Dal Colle 39pts & Desrocher 15pts to your team & their playing Saginaw tonight.
*The Spirit played last night & lost scoring 1 goal on 49 shots. That means, they’ll be exhausted tonight or ready to score & it could be an upset but I still like the Frontenacs based on these trades & Kingston is 13-5-2 at Home vs Saginaw 7-13-1; Kingston -135 in reg or +120 at -1.5. Good luck tonight!
Here are my bets for the night:
DRW O2.5 – they aren’t scoring a lot of goals, but I see them squeezing out 3 (inc OT) vs Lehner who is average.
NYR/Canes O5 – both teams have ability to light it up. Krieder is back and Lack is not Cam Ward. Push at least.
CBH ML and O2.5 – I see them getting back on their winning ways vs a Cats team that has dropped last 4.
Blues ML – they have really been playing well recently–5 of 6–and will be seeking revenge from loss to Avs earlier this month in Denver (two away games vs same team? some stupid scheduling NHL)
Bonus plays:
NYR score first vs second string goalie
NYI score first vs second string goalie
good luck boys
