It’s Thursday and we’ve got a full thwack of games on the board as per usual.
Scott had one play yesterday and it was a push with the Jackets vs Leafs. A big third period helped there as the Leafs got destroyed by the Jackets.
Speaking of the Jackets – just over a month until I am in Columbus for the stadium game against the Red Wings. Counting down the days until that. Can’t wait.
Alright lets get into todays games:
Hurricanes vs Jackets:
This is a no bet. Metrics do not support the Canes -1.5 in ANY way. Hell the Jackets at 3.75 is probably value, despite the back to back. However they have a piss-poor back to back record so I wouldn’t back it.
Red Wings vs Canadiens:
Wings slight favourites here as they come in struggling a bit. Looking at the metrics, it seems a bit tight to call. Actually overall metrics last 10 supports over 6. Problem is the Wings offense has went to sleep last 3 games and it’s not like they were playing defensive juggernauts so I’ll reluctantly pass on that.
Bruins vs Senators:
No play here. The Sens with a really bad GF/160 over last 10 but this is a team with brutal defensive and goalie metrics. We saw that on the 18th. I mean hell they did play then and put up 5 goals each in regulation and the line is only 5.5. Hmmm.
I think there is enough to make it a play. Just looking at who the bruins have scored against, who they struggle against offensively etc.

Rangers vs Flyers:
This is an interesting one with both teams on nice point streaks. Metrics make it very close and not seeing a play.
Wild vs Utah:
Wild broke out of their funk with the win over Colorado. Utah come in with two straight wins. Think this is a bit closer than the bookies say but not enough to make it a play.
Blues vs Knights:
Not backing anything involving the Knights.
Flames vs Sabres:
Flames with the win over the Jets. Sabres coming in after the win over the Canucks. Nothing standing out in this one.
Oilers vs Canucks:
They just played and Oilers screwed me in that one so yeah no play. Hope the Oilers lose 300-0. What can I say I’m a bitter person.
Kraken vs Capitals:
Tight one and nothing really jumping out.
Ducks vs Penguins:
“Penguins on the road” is something I have tried not to back for years. This one looking at the data its like “Eh I could see it” but it’d have to be in regulation and I am not rolling in confidence over it especially with how high variance the Pens are.
Sharks vs Predators:
Don’t bet the Preds!
