Quick note that there’ll be no OHL, WHL or AHL Tips for a couple of weeks. I’m off on vacation and I handle those. Scott will be taking over the writing of the tips but I should be able to correspond with him over the games each day.
That was a crazy night of NHL action last night. Like we’ve seen this season a lot – teams who look like they’re getting things going have a big slip-up. The Devils and Penguins did that last night with big home losses. The Sharks however continue their impressive winning streak extending it to 6.
Just 4 games on the board tonight as the Rangers host the Flyers and the Red Wings go up against the Leafs.
Let’s get to it:
Flyers vs Rangers Betting Tips:
Flyers are stumbling a fair bit lately although they did get that hard fought win over the Islanders on Sunday.
They’re going up against the New York Rangers and there’s a fair bit of confidence in that camp – all centered around Lunqdvist. While it’s too early to say he’s starting to look really solid and that’s what they need from him right now.
The way this season is going I’d almost prefer the added insurance of overtime. However I’ve got to go with Rangers in Regulation simply because we believe the Rangers should and will beat the Rangers in a strong manner – as opposed to stumbling to an OT victory.
Leafs vs Red Wings Betting Tips:
The beat up Wings are still fighting pretty darn well. We just think the Leafs are too good for them at the moment. Everything about the Leafs is clicking and they’re looking like such a good team.
They’ve proved themselves on the road many times this season and we’re going to back them to do it again here. Due to the battling performances of the Wings though we’ll take Leafs to win incl OT/SO if Andersen is in net.
Red Wings are without Larkin and possibly without Vanek, their two top scorers. Mrazek is likely in net. Red Wings have to be gassed after stretch they’ve been on and TMLs are coming off motivating win vs Flames. TML will win by 2 goals or more. Take your pick of bets.
Nucks are going to have a good night against the Avs. Avs are without top D Tyson Barrie and top forward Matt Duchene. Pickard is in net and he’s very leaky. Nucks ML and TT o2.5
Oiler reg has a lot of value: they are well rested (2-0 with 3 days rest) and coming off a very impressive stretch. I like the over in this game as well. Ducks are without Silverberg and according to the local paper Gibson might be rested because he’s coming off an injury.

Just for the story my firts an only hockey games I’ve been in US, was Devils @ Bruins in the end of the eighty’s ! After 1mn of game two guys were fighting… Bruins won at the end… Long time after when I can go back in US it was in Chicago, I was on Tour with my band, but unfortunatly the Hawks didn’t play @ home…

Ugly 3rd period by the Hawks last night unfortunately. That was the first game they have lost when leading after two periods since 2014! Oh well. I’ve got another first period play for you all tonight.

Bad night last night, finishing 3-3. Bhawks really disappoint me and their fan base with lax play defensively and Crawford allowing soft goals. No way they should’ve lost to a team on a long road trip and that had their back up goalie in net.
What can you say about Pitt? I guess that its run had to come to an end sooner or later. But man, if you watched the game, St Louis really played terrific defense and got sticks and bodies in front of Penguins shooters nearly every single time. I think the Blues have to stick with Hutton as their No.1 netminder.

I like TOR. Not sure of the rest as I can see them going either way. But I can’t argue against your plays. I want to say Anaheim has a very good record against the Oilers, so that keeps me away from backing EDM. Good luck!

Manolo! That is my father’s name!
-138 are the odds. So you have to wager 138 to win 100.
The Puck line is an option where a team, for instance at -1.5, has to win by 2 goals in order to win the bet. So if you take Toronto -1.5, and they win 2-0 or 3-1 or 7-2, you win the bet.
The Toronto puck line pays +225. So if you bet 100 and toronto wins by 2 or more goals, you would win 225. That’s a nice return!
And when I say “leans” I mean that I like these sides but not enough to bet them. I hope this helps.

In USA they use -100 and +100 odds, not decimal (1.85) like us Europeans.

TML over DRW toronto 8-0-2 in last 10 on the road
NYR over PHIL flyers 1-7-2 in last 10 on the road
VAN over COL Colorado won 1 game in last 15 at home
EDM over ANA 7-1-2 in last 10 for oilers 7-2-1 in last 10 for ducks
I dont see a clear winner in EDM/ANA. I think it can go either way so avoid this game or play the odds. EDM is good on the road.

Those two seem like the best plays by far tonight. Might add on Canucks ML and Oilers ML for a much smaller amount on a parlay.

I think Edm can pull it off, I just do t like their history at Anaheim. Vancouver/ Avs … yeah Canucks are the better team and should win. It’s just not a game I like and if I’m not 100% confident in my pick, I leave it alone. Good luck tonight!

Are you getting any specific message about why they’re getting deleted? We’re not deleting anything so it must be an automatic thing with Disqus.
It says “deleted for spam” and then there’s a line that says “we are sorry and working to correct it.” So not sure what’s up. Been doing it for a couple weeks now. Maybe it’s telling me to keep my writeups short and keep em to the point. Lol. I promise I’m not trying to sell anything. I just like to write things out and explain why I’m taking a particular side.
