It was a slow Sunday with only 2 games.
The Canes beat the Bruins 4-1. This was the Bruins 3rd loss in a row which is the first time they have lost 3 straight this season.
The Leafs beat the Capitals 5-1. Tavares had 2 assists in his 1000th game. The Caps were up 1-0 after the 1st but the Leafs scored 4 unanswered in the 2nd.
It’s another slow day with only one game for us.
Blues vs Jets
The Blues are 4-6 over last 10 including dropping their last 4 straight, the Jets have gone 5-5 and have lost 3 in a row. Over the losing streaks the Blues have been outscored 19-8 and the Jets 9-3.
On the road the Blues are 13-12-1, at home the Jets are 17-8.
For GPG the Blues are ranked 22nd and the Jets 13th and GAPG the Blues are 26th and the Jets 4th.
The Jets shoot more per game, allow less shots per game, have the better powerplay percentage and a better penalty kill.
The Jets have won the last 5 games against the Blues dating back to 2021 and have won both games this season.
After this game both teams are off until February 11th which will give them an extended break over the all-star break.
Bowness called out his Jets after their performance in their last game when they got embarrassed by the Flyers 4-0. I expect them to have a better effort in this game.
All signs point to a Jets win. With both teams on losing skids one of them will end it tonight. With the Jets already winning twice against the Blues this season and the Blues without O’Reilly and Buchnevich I like the Jets at home.

Full game Under 6.5
The offense for both teams has gone dormant in the last three games each. Just their luck, that both teams go into a HUGE break, a full week after next Saturday. I’d suspect that they’ve chosen to start serious R&R to be fully recovered and re-energized for the second half of the season. That’s been mentioned by many sportscasters for many games recently. Tonight’s game may therefore mean nothing to these teams. The stat trends strongly suggest an UNDER, the situations supports that, so pushing that above 6 seems to slide important stats into harmony with that Under.
Winnipeg Kyle Connor to score +100
Haven’t been crazy about his shot totals last two games. But if he does start shooting the puck more the goal should be there. I expect a win by Winnipeg but their last three games metric wise indicates the effort wasn’t there from them. So if they do respond to the coaches call out and actually give an effort that wasn’t shown the last two home games I like their chances. Also not playing until the 11th might help with that effort as well, as you don’t wanna have to go potentially 3 weeks between wins and this will be their last crack at it.
Other goal scorers I though about were both Kyrou +175 and Tarasenko +220. However I really don’t wanna take goal scorers from the team I think is inevitably going to lose.
