Only 3 games last night but all were right and decided by 1 goal.

The Flyers defeated the Capitals 3-2. Feel bad for anyone who had the over in that one. After a fiery 1st period it sizzled out.

Leafs have now lost two in a row as the Jets beat them in a shootout 4-3.

We had Over 5 in the Stars/Kings game but it stayed under. Stars won that one 2-1. We thought it would be a close battle which generally can help the over but both goalies put up 30 saves. Solid win for the Stars though as they move to 5 in a row.

Every win for the Stars has now seen them come from behind in this current run. Crazy.

It is of course a busy Thursday, January 9th. We have 11 games on the board today.

An interesting one is Oilers vs Canadiens. Habs have lost their last 7 yet go into this as favourites, despite the Oilers beating the Bruins and the Leafs.

Tampa look to make it 9 in a row as they take on the Coyotes.

Quite a few streaking teams one way or the other. Let’s see what you think the best bet of the night is involving all three:

Coyotes @ Lightning
Oilers @ Canadiens
Stars @ Ducks

I want to back the Oilers so bad tonight to the point that I wrote it all up and everything. It just feels mathematically with the odds, it’s a clear cut bet. However I can’t pull the trigger in actually advising it.

Checking my stats I’ve given them more action this year than other books.

Canucks at Panthers Betting Tips:

Backing the over here seems like a bit of a gamble – however I’ve looked through it all and feel it’s the right play.

Panthers are a solid bounce back team and usually put in the goals after a loss. They lost to the Coyotes two nights ago so I’m hoping they bring it here.

The Canucks offense quietened down a little bit lately. In two games that were expected to be high scoring, they only scored 2 against the Rangers and 2 against Tampa. But they got their clocks cleaned by Tampa and I hope will be motivated for this one.

Panthers home goals against record is brutal at the moment. They’ve conceded 5, 5, 4 and 4. Both teams have strong power plays and weak PK.

Actually this is one that while I felt it was a bit of a gamble, the more I look at it the more I like it. I mean both teams want to erase their last games and the only way to do that is offensively.

1u on over 6.5 goals incl OT/SO.

Blues vs Sabres Betting Tips:

Buffalo come into this one on the back of wins over the Oilers and the Panthers and some tight results against the Bruins and Tampa. They’re definitely playing decent hockey right now.

However the Blues are just unreal at home. They’ll also be motivated after the Sabres thumped them 5-2 earlier in the year.

Sabres of course are without Skinner and Olofsson. They’re lucky Marcus Johansson has stepped up. McCabe is going to be out for them too.

Sabres are no pushovers. But the Blues at home always look hungry and motivated and I’m good to back them here.
