Game 2 in the Stanley Cup 2018 Finals was an epic affair remembered for one thing – THE SAVE.
It was an incredible save by Holtby and a shoutout to the Flippist for his awesome Flipbook of it.
That meant that the Capitals tied the series up 1-1 and now the teams head to Washington where the Knights hope to get back on track. The Capitals will hope they have momentum on their side and you know Holtby will really be feeling it tonight.
It’s always tricky to predict things at this stage but here are our thoughts for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals:
Scott: Game 2 was incredible. The Holtby save with 2 minutes left will go down as one of the best saves in playoff history and certainly of all time in Capitals history.
The win for the Caps was their first ever finals win in franchise history. Ovechkin scored his first of the series he also had 5 hits, some were of the bone crunching variety.
Kuznetsov left the game after being hit by McNabb in the 1st and didn’t return. Lars Eller picked up his game in Kuznetsov’s absence scoring a goal and adding two helpers. He also went 10-16 with the faceoffs.
With no update on Kuznetsov I’m a little hesitant to pick the Caps even though they are at home. I think I’ll skip this game and see how things play out.
No Tip
Graeme: It’s tricky because I’d say both game is pretty much a coin flip at this stage, but I’ll only really take a team if the odds are there. Knights are around 2.10 and that’s not enough for me.
There’s a lot of plays I am tempted on tonight but I can’t advise any. There are just too many what ifs. I do like the Knights to win and I feel like they are the better team but the odds aren’t enough for me. I’m also concerned that Holtby comes out in this one in absolute beast mode. In saying that I don’t think even if he does, he can stop the Knights electric offense.
I’m going to go with 0.5u on the Over 5.5. It’s a nice enough price, Game 1 went over with ease and Game 2 was very close to it.
