Busy day yesterday and Graeme had the one tip.  Had the Knights to win in regulation against the Kings but this game was pretty crazy and it was the Kings winning 6-5.

The Caps beat the Kraken and Ovechkin scored his 886th career goal meaning he is now only 9 back of Gretzky’s record.  He also reached 1600 points for his career becoming the 11th player to hit that milestone.

The Jackets went off beating the Rangers 7-3.  Canes beat the Jets 4-2, the Pens beat the Wild 3-1 and the Stars beat the Canucks 4-1 with Rantanen scoring the empty netter.

4 games tonight.

Oilers vs Sabres

The Oilers are in 2nd in the Pacific and on a 2 game win streak.

The Sabres are in last place in the Eastern Conference and on a 6 game losing skid.

The Oilers need to pick up wins against teams like the Sabres who are at the bottom of the standings.

Oilers on the road are 17-11-2 and the Sabres at home are 15-14-3.

I want to take the Oilers but needs to be in regulation and with them on the road I don’t have enough confidence to make it a play.

Wings vs Senators

The Wings are in 5th in the Atlantic and 10th in the East.  If they are to make a push for the postseason then they’ll need to start now and end the 5 game skid they’re on.

The Sens have won their last 2 games and are sitting in 4th in the Atlantic and are in 7th which is the first wild card spot.

This should be a good game and I can see it going either way.

Blackhawks vs Avalanche

The Hawks are awful going 3-4-3 in last 10 and are in 2nd to last place overall.

The Avalanche are 7-3 in last 10 and on a 5 game win streak.  Management and the team must believe they have a good shot this year as they made some moves to better the team.  Sure they lost Rantanen but the have Necas and Drury from that and brought in Nelson and Coyle at the deadline.

Obviously I would think the Avalanche win here and so does just about everyone else including the sportsbooks.  To get any value we would have to take the Avs -2.5 which is an easy pass for me.

Leafs vs Utah

The Leafs are in 2nd in the Atlantic and only 4 behind the Panthers with a game in hand.  They are on a 3 game losing skid and brought in Carlo from the Bruins and Laughton from Flyers which will give them some needed depth.

Utah is in 6th in the Central and 11th in the West.  They are 6-3-1 in last 10 and 12-13-6 at home.

Like the Leafs chances but the data isn’t on their side enough.

Full game OVER 5.0: Edmonton and Detroit games
McDavid OVER 0.5 Assists
TIE in Regulation: Detroit game
Lean: anytime goal scorer: Draisaitl
Lean: Tie in regulation……. Toronto game

Toronto is out west and not doing great. Their focus is evidently on eastern games. This is their last game before returning home, and Toronto will NOT care about this game, they’ll want to avoid exhaustion and play-through injuries that linger. Utah is in the Wild Card race and will always want points. Toronto has so much talent that it acts to equalize, so a tie is a possibility, even a Utah win but the odds all around just don’t appeal to me. The Detroit game has “TIE” written all over it. Not touching the Colorado game; between the best/worst combination which breaks the 80/20 rule, and lousy odds, nothing doing.
