5 games yesterday.
I had the Preds to win but they lost 4-3 in overtime. It sucks but was a great finish. Wild pulled their goalie in overtime and scored. Incredible move by the Wilds coach Hynes who knew his team needed points so they went for it.
The Oilers beat the Penguins 4-0, McDavid had a goal and 2 assists and the Pens have now lost 3 in a row. Hawks beat the Coyotes 7-4 Bedard had 2 goals and an assist, Blackwell scored a hat trick. The Canes beat the Flames 7-2 and are now 3-0 since the deadline.
4 more for us tonight.
Blues vs Bruins Betting Tips:
The Blues are playing bad right now. They have lost their last 3 games and are 3-6-1 in last 10. They are 8 points out of the playoffs.
The Bruins are 5-1-4 in last 10. The are in 2nd in the Atlantic Divison and only 1 point behind the Panthers.
The Bruins are ranked better in GPG, Shots, power play, GAPG, SOGA and penalty kill. We would have to go with Bruins in regulation but I’m not ready to do that. They have had only 1 go to extra time this month but last month they had 7 of their 12 games played in February go extra time.
Devils vs Rangers Betting Tips:
The Devils had so much promise heading into this season and to see how bad they have been playing must be gut wrenching for the team and their fans. They’re 3-7-0 in last 10 and in 11th in the East, 6 points back of the Wings who are in 8th.
The Rangers are in 1st in the Metro and have gone 7-2-1 in last 10. They are ranked 8th in GPG and 6th in GAPG.
They have played twice this season with the Rangers winning both by a combined score of 10-4.
With the Devils play I can’t back them. Looking at the stats the Devils have better Corsi and Fenwick numbers and better XGF and XGA. Rangers are better in GF and GA/60 but still it’s putting me off of this game.
Capitals vs Jets Betting Tips:
The Caps are only 3 points back of the wild card. Over the last 10 games they have gone 7-2-1 including winning their last 2 in a row.
The Jets are are in 2nd in the Central with 85 points in 63 games. The Avalanche are in 3rd also with 85 points but have played 65 games. They are 7-3-0 in last 10.
They have similar records over last 10 so this could be a good game. Plus the Caps still have a good shot at the postseason and the Jets fighting to stay where they are so both have lots to play for.
Islanders vs Kings Betting Tips:
The Isles played yesterday and looked good. Sure it was the Ducks but they have looked better since Roy became coach.
The Kings are in 3rd in the Pacific with 75 points in in 63 games. The Knights are in the 2nd wild card spot and have the same number of points as the Kings but have played one more game. The Kings have to be worried as the Knights made some moves at the deadline which is only going to strengthen the team.
With the Isles playing yesterday we should think the Kings win. But the Isles looked good and are in the final wild card spot after being 7 points back 2 weeks ago.
Rangers win, likely on the puckline.
I’m off the Jets game as somehow the Caps have found a way to score recently and I haven’t bet on one of their games for years. They’ve won 7 of their last 10, but not including a team as good as the current Jets, who just picked up offensive talent Toffoli to add to good returns they’re getting from recent addition Monahan. The Jets have had one day off since a back-to-back so risk starting off flat, against a Caps team much more rested.
Boston could be guilty of playing down to St. Louis’ level, so not touching that trap.
Yeah, after the Nashville game I also bet on the Islanders and watched the game. The first period was insane. Islanders shot 6-7 times and scored 3 goals. Haha.
I was really thinking about this game today, LA vs New York. There’s a good chance LA wins. I say that because of the rhythm of wins and losses that they’re in. It would be a good opportunity to win again. But I looked at the recent performances of both teams, and the Islanders could be tough to beat.
The Islanders have the better results from their games with recent opponents.
Maybe it’s not the best way to analyze the strength of a team, but I always use it to get a better picture.
