The Avs beat the Stars 4-3 in overtime in a game between the #2 and #3 teams in the Central. Rantanen was back in Colorado after being traded twice this season.
The Wings beat the Knights 3-0 with newly acquired Mrazek picking up his first shutout of the season. The Isles beat the Panthers 4-2 snapping their losing skid at 3 games.
The Blues pounded the Ducks 7-2 to stay in 9th in the West and Utah beat the 8th place Canucks 3-1.

Devils vs Jackets
The Devils are in 3rd in the Metro but with the loss of Hughes it’s going to be difficult to hold that spot.
The Jackets are in 5th in the Metro and have dropped their last 3 games straight. They are on the outside of the playoffs but are close enough to have a shot.
Should be a good game between the 3rd and 5th place teams in the Metro.
Flyers vs Lightning
Flyers are 3-6-1 in last 10. They are in 15th in the East and have a long way to go to get themselves into a playoff spot.
The Lightning are 6-3-1 in last 10 and are in 2nd in the Atlantic but the Leafs are in 3rd and have the same amount of points. At home they have been great going 23-8-2.
Would have to take the Lightning -1.5 and with these teams just playing on Thursday and the Flyers winning that one 4-3 in a shootout I’m passing
Sabres vs Bruins
I’m in the same boat as Graeme, I’m not touching anything involving the Bruins.
Flames vs Leafs
The Flames have lost their last 2 games. They are 4-3-3 in last 10 and are on the outside of the playoffs but within reach.
They have lost 2 in a row, are 5-4-1 in last 10 but are in 3rd place in the Atlantic tied with the Lightning who are in 2nd. They have lost their last 2 games and 5 of their last 6. They have gone 20-13-1 at home so with them losing their last 2 there they are due. This will be Tavares’ 500th game as a member of the Maple Leafs and I see the team coming together to make this a special night for their former captain.

Kings vs Wild
I have mentioned many times but the Kings are much better when they are at home then on the road. They are 13-17-5 away from LA. They are in place in the Pacific. They have won 5 in a row with 4 of those being played at home.
The Wild are 3-6-1 in last 10 and are on a 2 game skid. They are in 4th in the Central which has them in the 7th and first wild card spot. For their sake I hope that the injuries to Brodin, Kaprizov and Eriksson-Ek all have magical recoveries.
With the Kings on the road no thanks and the Wild banged up I’m passing.
