What a great time of year for hockey.
Teams are fighting for the playoffs and almost every game has some meaning in the standings.
Last night the Hawks and Leafs had a great game. The Leafs scored first and the Hawks tied it in the 2nd. This game needed OT and with 17 seconds left in OT Hartman scored for the Hawks. With the win the Hawks now have 97 points and sit in 1st in the West, 5 points ahead of the 2nd place Wild.
The Habs beat the Sens 4-3 in a shootout. Montreal are now in 1st in the Atlantic with 88 points while the Sens are in 2nd with 86.
The Caps beat the Lightning 5-3 and became the first team this year to hit 100 points and also are the first team to secure a spot in the postseason. The Jackets beat the Isles 3-2 in OT and with the point gained in the loss the Isles are now only 1 point behind the Leafs for the final wild card spot in the East.
For today we have a good day of hockey with 7 games and thanks to their start times we have a day full of action.
Senators vs Canadiens Betting Tips:
With this being the 2nd part of the home and home it’ll be a good game.
With the win last night the Habs moved 2 points ahead of the Sens. It was a great game that needed a shootout to be decided.
The last 3 games between these teams have been high scoring with totals of 7 goals in each game. All games have been decided by a single goal and 2 have needed a shootout.
I like this to go over also.

Hurricanes vs Flyers Betting Tips:
These teams are tied in the standings with 72 points. They are 7 points behind the Leafs and will need to play strong hockey down the stretch to have a chance.
The 3 meetings this season of these teams have had totals of 6, 7 and 9.
With both teams needing everything to go their way I expect them to go all out for the rest of the season.
I like the Flyers chances in this game but I like the over better.

Wild vs Jets Betting Tips:
The Wild have been in a slump going 1-6 in their last 7 games and are now 5 points behind the Hawks for the Central Division lead.
The Jets are 1-3-1 in their last 5 and have 69 points on the year. They are quickly falling behind in the playoff race where they now need to gain 12 points to catch the wild card.
The Wild can sweep the season series with a win in this one. The first 4 meetings this year have been high scoring games with totals of 11, 6, 4 and 7.
This will be Eric Staal’s 1000th game. He has been on fire scoring 7 goals in his last 8 games.
I like this game to be like most of their meetings this year and go over.

With all the Penguins injuries? What about Calgary??
Florida isn’t a threat against Pittsburgh in particular, and isn’t a strong away team, even though they do show some good results “against the spread”, but Pittsburgh is not an average team, it’s dominant at home and this is not a back-to-back for Pittsburgh. Calgary’s game features the return of Jerome Iginla with the LA team and I’ve been waiting for LA to light up the red light and show some speed, and with the respect Iginla gets, and LA needing points badly, I wouldn’t put any money on Calgary, for this particular game. LA may come out and wipe Calgary off the map, like the little spoiled kids they are, ha ha. Or maybe not, but it’s not regular chemistry going on tonight, and that’s a reason to have lots of caution.
The Panthers have been putting forward far more consistent performance now though. Beating the rangers, thrashing the leafs… I don’t know. Ideally I would like a treble for today- have hawks And blue jackets but just can’t decide on the third. Any and all advice is welcome.
I’m likewise wary of betting on flyers against Hurricanes. As bad as the Hurricanes are, whenever I bet against them they find a way to win! Hahaha they’re a bad luck bet for me.
When I say Pittsburgh to win today, that’s only “in regulation”, I don’t mean the puckline of -1.5, which puts far too much question into it for my liking. This time of year, teams are going for the win only, and with Pittsburgh having such dominance, they can get the lead and then back off offense, allowing Unders and one-goal leads to do what needs to be done.
Until I see if Malkin is playing I’ll probably still hold off! Thanks for the advice ! Any other suggestions?
