It was a 0-1 night last night.
Had the Hurricanes to win in regulation against the Rangers but the Rangers win 2-0. Georgiev was amazing for the Ranger making 44 saves. The Canes out shot the Rangers 44-18. The Canes had a whopping 5.39xG.
The Stars beat the Caps 3-2. Ovechkin scored his 40th goal for the 12th time in his career tying Gretzky.
The Flyers won their first game since trading Giroux when they beat the Islanders 2-1. Hayes scored both Flyers goals.
The Jets beat the Hawks 6-4 in what was likely Fleury’s last game as a Blackhawk.
The trades started early which they usually do.
The Leafs landed Giordano and Blackwell from the Kraken. The Bruins got Lindholm from they Ducks and signed him to an 8 year extension. The Canucks got Dermott from the Leafs for a 3rd, the Sens got Hamonic from the Canucks and the Wild added some toughness to their team when they grabbed Deslauriers from the Ducks.
So far the Panthers are really going for it. They added the biggest fish with Giroux and bolstered their defense with Chiarot and Hagg.
Only 4 games today.
Bruins vs Canadiens Betting Tips:
Always a good game between these original 6 teams.
The Bruins are 11-2-1 over last 14 games. They sit in the 1st wild card spot.
The Canadiens are 9-3-2 in their last 14 but are still in last place in the league.
The have played twice this season with the Bruins winning both by a combined score of 10-3.
I like the Bruins to win here but I wish that the regulation pick had better odds. But they are above our minimum so I’ll go with that. The Bruins have a better road record than they do a home one so that helps.

Knights vs Wild Betting Tips:
Both teams are in the playoffs but aren’t yet comfortable.
The Knights are in the final wild card spot. They are now starting a crucial 3 games in 4 nights stretch.
The Wild are playing the 4th game of a 9 game home stand. The lost the first game but have won the last 2. The are in 3rd place in the Central and a win here would see them jump past the Blues into 2nd.
With both teams in similar situations for the playoffs I expect this to be a good game and one that I an skipping.
Oilers vs Avalanche Betting Tips:
The Oilers have won their last 5 games and are now in 3rd in the Pacific.
The Avalanche have won 3 straight and are in 1st place in the Central, West and league.
The Oilers have been scoring averaging 5.4 per game over this 5 game win streak but now take on a team who is ranked 2nd overall in GPG and 7th in GAPG.
With the Oilers on fire I would say they have a shot here. But again it comes down to their goaltending. If the game turns into a goal fest then the Avs are deep offensively.
I have to skip this game. The Avs are the favorites here but needs to be in regulation and its hard with the way the Oilers have been playing to bet against them.
Predators vs Ducks Betting Tips:
Still not comfortable tipping a game with the Preds involved.
They are taking on a Ducks team who have lost 6 in a row.
I would normally take the Preds to win in regulation but this is one of those games where, if I go with them, they will lose after being the favorite to win and why I am skipping them for a little while still.
Thanks Scott, I like Bs too but at -150 reg (Bovada.lv) it’s a pass. However, PL is about even and worth 1u.
Thinking of fading the 6.5 totals. I’ve noticed that the games have tightened up a bit.

To WIN moneyline: Boston and (probably) Minnesota
Only thing I can see on this trade deadline day, is Boston to win moneyline. Too many of their games, and Montreal games, are close, so no puckline. Montreal seems to have been in “sell” mode at the deadline, so I can’t see how they will have gained any edge today. Minnesota should be feeling super pumped, getting Fleury. Wow, a major win for the Wild. I’d give them the edge tonight against Vegas but probably not willing to lay much money on the risk. I’ll be expecting Seattle to lose most remaining games (after tomorrow’s game against Arizona), as they’re selling and obviously can only hope to have a good summer of trading and start to build some chemistry, this season’s experiment is about over.
