Busy day of hockey yesterday.
The Blues beat the Wild 5-4 in overtime moving the Blues to 9th and the Wild 10th in the West. The Isles beat the Jets 6-3 which keeps the Jets on 3rd in the Central. The Flyers picked up a big win over the Bruins 3-2.
The Leafs were up 5-0 and survived a Oilers pushback to win 6-3. The Preds won 1-0 against the Wings to give them points in their last 17 games going 15-0-2. As expected the Panthers vs Rangers game was a good one that saw the Rangers win 4-3 in a shootout.
Another busy day with 10 games. Problem is that most teams played yesterday.
Jets vs Capitals Betting Tips:
Jets played yesterday and lost to the Isles.
The Caps are coming off of that crazy game against the Canes where they won in a shootout. They are 6-4-0 last 10 and 18-11-5 at home.
I would say with the Caps playing well, at home and having yesterday off that they should have the advantage here. But it’s the Jets and it really hard to bet against them coming off of a loss.
Penguins vs Avalanche Betting Tips:
Penguins are really hurting. They’re on a 2 game skid and are 3-6-1 in last 10. They can still make the postseason but it’s going to be really tough for them to do that.
The Avalanche are are on a 8 game win streak and 9-1-0 in last 10. They are in 1st in the Central thanks to having played one fewer game than the Stars. But the Jets are 2 points behind them with a game in hand.
We would have to take the Avs -1.5 but I’m more comfortable just passing as the Pens may show up and keep this close
Devils vs Islanders Betting Tips:
I can’t touch either team right now.
The Devils are 4-6-0 in last 10 and are falling out of the playoff picture with each day.
The Isles played yesterday ending their 6 game losing streak. But with their results of late I can’t back them.
Leafs vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
Should be a good test for both teams.
The Leafs played yesterday and won but almost blew a 5 goals lead.
The Canes lost their last game but are still 8-1-1 on last 10 and 23-9-4 at home.
I could make a case for both teams in this one. The Leafs just beat one of the best offenses in the league which will give them momentum. The Canes have been and continue to be one of the better teams in the league.
Oilers vs Senators Betting Tips:
Both teams played yesterday so I’m passing.
Panthers vs Flyers Betting Tips:
Another game where both teams played yesterday.
Stars vs Coyotes Betting Tips:
Stars still in the hunt for 1st in the Central and it looks like it will be fun to see how this plays out. They are 8-2-0 in last 10 and on a 3 game win streak. On the road they have gone 21-9-5.
The Coyotes are 5-5-0 in last 10 and 18-16-0 on the road. They are way out of the playoff picture at this point.
Would have to take the Stars in regulation. Only issue I have it’s they played the Sharks back to back to start the month and both needed extra time. Plus the Coyotes are a better team when at home so I’m passing.
Lightning vs Ducks Betting Tips:
Lightning played yesterday so I’m off of taking them.
The Ducks are 2-8-0 in last 10 so they really can’t be trusted.
Sabres vs Flames Betting Tips:
The Sabres on a 2 game skid and are 4-5-1 in last 10. They are 33-33-5 this season which shows just how hard they are to predict when they are playing .500 hockey.
The Flames played yesterday so I’m avoiding them. And with the Sabres playing .500 hockey all season I have no faith in them.
Canadiens vs Kraken Betting Tips:
Habs are way out and have been since the start of the season.
Kraken have lost 7 in a row and and have had an awful time scoring goals.
Can’t back either here.

I understand the carefulness tho.
Altho’ I really in no way see Ducks winning over the much stronger Tampa … even if they played yesterday. Also Oilers should get ‘revenge’ by taking on the weaker Sens and should take the W – or at least 3 goals.

Oilers Over 3.0 / Over 6.0 (in total)
Caps vs Jets & Canes vs Leafs feels the most difficult to bet on, Caps keeps getting better as of late and Leafs could still be in “kill-mode”.
I’m amazed at how bad some teams are, and some have already gone golfing. Montreal and Seattle are hopeless on offense this year, but can be scored on. The UNDER 5.5 isn’t nearly safe enough, so I’m looking at UNDER 7.0 as parlay bait.
Pittsburgh is not NHL-ready, and Colorado is at home and in a 3-team Division playoff position race, so they’ll show up. Probably a puckline win against Tim Hortons.
Toronto/Carolina is going to gravitate to goals, so OVER 6.0 looks good, but OVER 5.0 looks great.
Tampa needs points, is on the road and they’ve worried me for too long, but still taking the moneyline, because Anaheim is horrible and has already gone golfing.
Oilers moneyline. Ottawa doesn’t have it for non-Conference games and the Oilers need points.
