We went 0-0 yesterday as we decided to skip last night, and looking at the results it was probably a good decision.
A lot of the big favourites or teams still with something to play for in the playoff race either lost(Penguins, Ducks, Flyers) or had extremely tight wins(Blues, Devils) that made us glad we weren’t backing them.
It was a very intense night of hockey and it’s a real nailbiting time of the season. I loved seeing the Flyers drop a point as it makes the East that much tighter. Most teams have 9 or less games to go and this is always a fun part of the season.
Quick note to all my golf tips followers – I’m skipping this week. Also a reminder that I also do NBA Tips over at NBATips.net and we’re on a killer 10-1 run at the moment. Looking forward to the playoffs there as well.
We turn our attention to Wednesday, March 28th with 2 games with playoff implications. The Panthers look to keep the pressure on in the East as they visit Toronto on the first half of the Ontario B2B. Later that night the Flyers take on the Avs with both teams needing the win.

Panthers vs Leafs Betting Tips:
I just about jumped for joy at seeing the Panthers odds today, because I was wanting to back them but worried they’d have no value and wouldn’t be a play.
2 months ago this line would be fine but out of all of the teams fighting for the wild card spots at the moment, no-one probably deserves it more than the Panthers. They’ve come into their own over the last couple of months and have been a joy to watch.
They’re racking up wins home and away against all kinds of opposition. They’re bouncing back strong from losses and they’re not giving up when 2 goals down with 1 period left. That’s playoff material.
It’s not going to be an easy game. The Leafs were extremely unlucky against Buffalo and have been a pretty decent home team this season. They’re also chasing a franchise record which I gotta think gives them a bit of motivation.
But I gotta go with a team who’s fighting hard like the Panthers.

Quick thoughts on the other games:
Capitals/Rangers: A hot Capitals versus the worst road team in the NHL? Just seems like one of those “oh there’s no way the Capitals can lose this game” games where they blow it in spectacular fashion. Can’t bet at those odds anyway. Rangers are a bit more feisty and have been scoring on the road so I’d lean over in that one personally.
Knights/Coyotes: Based off the past few games the two have had the stats don’t really justify it but I could see the desert rivalry being a big one with both teams scoring for fun. Coyotes are a good price but I’ve been impressed with the way the Knights have tightened up lately especially on the D and that is what’s keeping me from advising either of those.
Avalanche/Flyers: Philly had that tough loss last night and aren’t really a bounce back team so not sure what we’ll see from them tonight. If the Panthers win earlier in the day they might crack under the pressure. Avs probably win but with a Philly team needing a W I can’t back them at that price.
