A good night of hockey last night. All four games were decided in regulation time.
We went 1-1 with the tips.
Our win was the tip of over 5.5 in the Caps vs Avalanche game and the Caps won 5-3. With the win the Caps now have a 5 point lead over the Jackets for first place in the East.
Our loss was our tip of the Flames to beat the Kings. The Flames scored first but it was all LA from that point on when the scored the next 4 goals for the 4-1 win. The Kings will need to basically win their remaining games to get in as the still are 10 points behind the Preds for the final wild card spot.
The other games of the night were also great. The Hawks came out and got out of their funk and pounded the Penguins 5-1. They exploded in the 1st for 4 goals and didn’t look back. The win has them at 105 points for 1st in the West and a 9 point lead over the next best team in the conference.
The final game of the night was the Blues vs the Coyotes and the Blues won 3-1. They are in 3rd in the Central with 90 points.
A full night for us with 9 games. And with each passing day the playoff picture becomes more clear with teams clinching and being eliminated.
Stars vs Bruins Betting Tips:
The Bruins are in 8th place with 86 points. They could move into 3rd in the Atlantic with a win in this game and a Leafs loss. The Lightning are in 9th place only 3 points behind the Bruins.
They need to finish the season playing strongly to make sure they make the playoffs. If the playoffs were to stay today than they would be matched up with the Caps in the first round. I’m not sure any team wants to have that matchup and it can be avoided if they can pass the Leafs.
The Stars have been eliminated from the playoffs so they are now just playing for pride.
With the Bruins in desperate need of a win I like their will to carry them to a victory in this game.

Senators vs Wild Betting Tips:
The Sens are in 2nd in the Atlantic with 91 points only 4 ahead of the Leafs.
The Wild have been on a rough streak lately and have gone 3-10-2 for the month of March. Things aren’t going to get any easier for them with Parise out.
The Wild are going to start Alex Stalock in goal. He is making his season debut tonight.
This is going to be a good game but with Parise out and the Wild starting Stalock I’d lean towards the Sens.
And then you see the odds and I would be a fool not to take the Sens in this one.
Senators win incl OT/SO

Ouch, 0-2 yesterday.
Edmonton seemed very slow last night, I see the sharks taking the PL.
Sharks -1.5
GLTA!!!!
Bruins, Tampa, Montreal in regulations, NY Islanders including OT! What do you think?
I think that Islanders are a bit unreliable recently, they play awuful hockey, esp. against Bruins.
Flyers are playing much better- would rather bet on them than the islanders..
Yes! The first three lock em up. NYI game is a stay away. Those two teams are so unpredictable
Wow! You have the same tips my program gave me today. :))
Senators ML ODD 2.4 (now 2.3) with 2 units
And also it gave me a tip on Boston. (Maybe for combos and not part of the underdog bets.)
Karlsson is probably out!
Parlay: Bolts ML & Canes – Jackets under 6.5 @ 2.12
I also like some games to go to OT:
Jackets – Canes
Isles – Flyers
Sens – Wild
Maybe I will play a 2/3 system
GLTA
Adding: Leafs 1P ML @ 2.10
Philly looks like Hawks yesterday! Lol. Unexpected start!
3-2, +2.99u 🙂
What do you think about Predators-Maple Leafs going over5,5?
I also like Ducks in reg, they are playing good lately and Jets have no motivation any more.
Scott initially liked the over but we looked into it and decided against it. I’m not sure what sort of Preds team will show up tonight – they’re practically in the playoffs so will they have much motivation? Plus Andersen might be back. To be honest I’d prefer to be on the Leafs tonight in that one.
Thanks. Any thoughts on Ducks game?
Jets seem to have some real internal issues. Ducks on a tear. I like it altho I wish the odds were better. One of those I’d probably take in regulation.
Both teams should battle for the win and NEITHER is guaranteed a playoff spot yet. First time they’ve played each other this year (more open opportunities?). The general stats suggest OVER, and the intensity should be there for 60 minutes. Strong lean.
Thoughts on the San Jose vs Edmonton game?
Not sure what to expect from the Oilers tonight now they’ve clinched a spot. Avoiding that one.
I’m expecting a back and forth game in Carolina, therefore picking OVER 5.5 in 2 decently offensive teams in Canes and Jackets.
Bruins in regulation, they want it more
MTL in regulation… hopefully 🙂
To WIN: Boston and Tampa
Leans: Boston+Toronto games OVER, Philly UNDER
Can anyone read Montreal for tonight?
(I consider the western conference playoff races over and last night’s Kings game was a clear sign of it. Calgary could have sealed a spot but couldn’t get excited, LA faces elimination and panicked, to their clear benefit. The west may produce odd results for the remaining games. Some teams in the east still easier to read.)
Tampa in regulation.
Agreed. Tampa is the better team and needs every win it can get.
guys good day. we have another wonderful night of hockey. let hope two predictions come ou tpositive
guys what is MTL ?
The Montreal Canadiens team.
BlueJackets, Senators, Ducks and Sharks.
I will take this one!
Canadiens or Senators tonight? 🙂 Thank you for all the tips!
I’m going for :
Anaheim in reg,
Tampa ML (not reg as Detroit have had more over time games than any other team in the NHL)
Boston ML.
Good spotting. I agree with Anaheim to win. They could lose top spot in the playoff race with tough games coming up, so winning this one is important, and Anaheim has not slowed down since getting their playoff “x”.
Wish that had been the case! Move on and keep going I suppose
Got the Sweep last night…woot woot.
Got 3 totals I like for tonight.
Back at it again with first period over as the game is listed at 6
Hockey – Dallas Stars/Boston Bruins – total Over 1½ (-115) for the 1st period to win 1
When I do my #’s for Toronto/Nashville game they tell me it should be listed at 6O/U
Toronto Maple Leafs/Nashville Predators – total Over 5½ (-120) to win 1
My #’s say this game should be listed at 5.5O/U but it’s at 5. Potentially 1st round playoff preview. I pull the trigger on the Over and aim for a 4-2 final.
San Jose Sharks/Edmonton Oilers – total Over 5 (-135) to win 1
Bolts -1.5 is a gimme tonight.
Red Wings playing their 4th game in 5 days. Bolts playing their 2nd game in 6 days. Bolts dominate the Red Wings and Athanasiou is probably out for Detroit as well.
Stamkos is near return so that gives the Bolts a big morale boost. Red Wings on the other hand were officially eliminated from the playoffs.
Niemi is in net for the Stars tonight. He has a terrible road record this year, 2-7-2 with a 4.47 GAA. He is also 0-2 with a 5.18 GAA this month. I want to trust that the B’s get it done tonight in regulation, I just hope Rask looks like he did against the Preds a few days ago and not like the 4 starts before that game. (0-4, 3.75 GAA).
Boston, TB, and Habs in reg. Lock it up!
Fearless prediction: All home teams win tonight
Here we go:
CAR ML
OTT ML
OTT/MIN UNDER
TB in Reg
ANA ML
NASH ML
NASH/Tor OVER
Best of luck!
Tonight’s edition of not so quick thoughts:
NYI @ PHI (pick: pass)
– Flip a coin. The Islanders will obviously play like it’s the most important game of the season. Can’t afford to lose 3 in a row. It’s going to be good for the Isles to get back on the road where they’ve been better. Boychuk is back which will be huge for them, they’ve desperately needed a top 4 defenseman, those young guys can get it done for only so long. They’re a very dangerous team here, it’s not like they’ve been bad. Flyers on the other hand i feel like are playing the best hockey this season, or at least this year. Gostisbehere is finally playing like a top 4 guy, and they’ve got contribution from Weal as well, when you get production from different guys it makes you a better team. Flyers have also played the Islanders pretty well in recent history, although they did lose the last time the Isles visited them. Just a tough game to pick a winner all-around, i can’t pinpoint anything that would make the difference. Maybe some value in OT, just because of the importance of this game as well as the pressure on you when you got the lead. Flyers last 2 home games have gone to OT and the Islanders also went to OT in their last road game. But i dunno.
CBJ @ CAR (pick: Hurricanes)
– The Blue Jackets lately have rode Bobrovsky like no tomorrow. But he’s expected to get tonight off. I love this challenge from the Canes POV. They’re playing great and have been playing great for a long time now. It’s a game that, if you’re playing well, you can take advantage of the home crowd and take it to the better team. I still remember the last time these two teams played at Columbus, where the Blue Jackets were pretty much crying for help for 2 periods as the Canes looked like a dominant team, but that time Leighton vs Bobrovsky made the difference. Considering what’s at stake for the Canes here and how the main reason the Blue Jackets have been winning isn’t there, this is a game the Canes can win. If you take my tip make sure it’s Korpisalo and not Bob in though, not confirmed yet.
DAL @ BOS (pick: pass)
– I know everyone and their moms are going for the Bruins here. But there’s a few red flags. First of all im not sold on Rask yet. The Bruins blocked a zillion shots against the Preds and Rask wasn’t really tested. Bad goaltending + pressure opens up the possibility for these spoiler teams to win (remember Coyotes in Tampa?). On top of that, the Stars have won the last 3 meetings in Boston. Seguin always gets fired up against the Bruins. And the most important thing: the Stars have been decent lately. Yeah they got outworked in Montreal, but other than that they’ve been able to win some games and get games to OT’s. However i like what the Bruins have been doing lately, and with Niemi in net for the Stars they should be able to score some goals. Last 4 meetings there’s been 8 or 9 goals scored each time, so Over 6 is one option, however im concerned with the Stars inability to score goals on the road, and it’s 50/50 whether or not that continues or not.
FLA @ MTL (pick: Canadiens)
– I’d pick the Panthers for a surprise if Berra wasn’t in net and they weren’t playing their 3rd game in 4 and 4th in 6 nights. Possible fatigue + suspect goaltending is never a recipe for success. Canadiens are an offensively challenged team, but if they get an advantage like that they should be good enough to make the most of it. Habs can also clinch a playoff berth tonight, so that gives much needed motivation to get it done.
DET @ TBL (pick: Lightning -1.5)
– Detroit 4th game in 5 nights, so the after-effects of that 3-game back-to-back-to-back should still be there. Positivity is through the roof for the Bolts right now. Stamkos is near return and they got that big comeback win against the Hawks, not only beating a great team, but also snapping that home losing streak. They should have ton of energy tonight and the Bolts just know how to beat the Red Wings, having won 6 last meetings and 9 of past 10. The last game in Detroit was the one where the Red Wings could’ve played spoilers, but they couldn’t even win there, so i see no reason why the Bolts couldn’t get it done in a convincing fashion tonight.
TOR @ NSH (pick: Over 5.5)
– This should be a fun game to watch. Both teams have played well lately. Preds want revenge after that humiliating 6-2 loss back in November, and they’ve been on a roll at home. However they’re playing 3in4 and 4in6 so if the Leafs offense weren’t dangerous enough, that could open up more opportunities for them to score. These two teams have the potential to get on a serious track meet, as both sides aren’t afraid to get on the offense and score off the rush.
OTT @ MIN (pick: Wild)
– Erik Karlsson missed the morning skate and is a game-time decision. If he’s unable to go, i can’t see the Sens winning this game. Wild have gradually gotten better lately, and honestly having Stalock in net is a good thing. Dubnyk’s been shaky, Kuemper’s been terrible, so having a guy out there who basically plays for a job in the NHL is just a positive. These two teams always play eachother extremely tight, and we often see them go to overtime which is not out of the question tonight either. But you have to think at some point the Wild break out big time and considering the last 2 games i think it could be tonight. They are a better team than the Senators. Yeah Parise is out, but Burrows and Methot are 100% out of the Sens, so the injuries favor the Wild, even if EK is good to go. Minnesota has held their opponents to ~20 shots a lot of times lately, and the Sens are more of a defensive-minded team and their offense has been struggling somewhat lately. So that’s not a good combination for the Sens.
ANA @ WPG (pick: OT)
– Getzlaf missed the game against Vancouver, but is back in for this one, that’s obviously a good thing but can also create a false sense of security, as well as the easy win over the Canucks. The Jets are playing really well at home right now, and Hutchinson’s playing like a guy who wants to keep his job in the NHL. Im sure the Jets want to avoid getting swept by the Ducks in the season series, and see this as an opportunity to just go out and play your best without any pressure. It’s one of those games where i think the road team is just too good not to lose the game in regulation, but at the same time the home team is good enough to get the game to overtime.
SJS @ EDM (pick: OT)
– Im not sure what to make of this game. Sharks want to keep playing better and they have to feel like losing to the Oilers 4-1 at home few months ago was embarrassing. Oilers clinched a playoff spot and that was a huge night for them, so they could have some emotional hangover and the Sharks get the jump on them early. OR it could work as a positive. It’s still the Sharks, so the Oilers should get up for this game and see this as an opportunity to set the tone for the playoffs. In a way the Oilers got the best possible opponent for this game. What’s better than playing a potential playoff opponent the night after you clinch a playoff berth? Sharks are a top 10 team in the NHL and the type of team that can win this game outright, but considering how they’re leaking goals i don’t think they’ll get it done in regulation. Taking a chance with OT.
Good luck !
Yeah, Flyers are more clinic now, winnig low score games, with a much better defense play and letting behind that loose style allowing and scoring a lot. With much more fun to watch a game like that, but than they can’t affort to be well at the table.
GL
Not bad at all! Nice job as usual!

Well my main bet hit. Yet again only 1 pick away from nailing them all in pools. Damn Nashville.
