First of all my apologies – my Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames write-up was cut off due to an HTML cock-up on my part.
I just noticed it this morning and have fixed it but here is what I wrote – I always like to have these to refer back to:
Dallas Stars stepped up at home. Bookies have them as underdogs here by about the same price.
Unlike the Caps/Panthers game, I’m happy to take the value again on the Stars.
The Flames offense just cannot get going at all. They had their best CF, FF, SF, xGF, HDCF, SCF in that last game in the entire series. This was the production they have been looking for. And they still lost!
I’ll be honest – I do think they will get going at some point. It’s hard not to see it happen. But man that last game has to mess with their heads.
Stars incl OT
THe Flames did of course get it going yesterday in a BIG way. Their CF for example in the previous 3 games on 5 vs 5 was 38, 42 and 49. Last night was 75. In all strengths, it went from 53, 65 and 80 to 101.
The Flames finally found that sixth gear and racked up an impressive xGF of 6.16. That was actually their highest xGF of the season. The previous highest was April 7th in the Sharks game as they went 5.42 there.
The Preds are out. Sad that Saros never got to step in. Penguins take a big lead, and the Panthers will be relieved to escape with the W.
Let’s get going:
Bruins vs Canes Bets:
Scott: The Bruins top line did what they do best in game 4, Marchand had 5 points, Bergeron had 3 and Pastrnak had 2. Swayman has won both games since he took over as starter.
With the series in Carolina for this game the Canes really need to win it or face a game 6 in Boston down 3-2. It will be a tough task as the Bruins have won their last 2 to tie the series and the momentum is clearly on their side. I have to skip this game as it’s too tough to call.
No Bet
Graeme: Really surprised that the Bruins were able to beat the Canes in that last one. I’m getting concerned about Carolina. They’re conceding a lot of penalties which isn’t good. Their discipline went out the window in that last game.
The Bruins top line is looking exceptional and on fire. They have the momentum now.
The offensive performances have been fairly solid in this series but nothing exceptional but the goal production has been great.
I’m going to go with Over 6 incl OT. Hurricanes have proven they are good for a couple of goals each game, and the Bruins offense has the momentum. Neither goalie is doing anything great right now.
If Andersen randomly comes back today – and from what I am seeing he isn’t – then don’t back it.

Lightning vs Leafs Bets:
Scott: The Lightning came ready and scored early and often. Stamkos got his first of the series and if he gets going then that’s not going to work in the Leafs favor.
Game 5 is back in Toronto and the Leafs need to take advantage of having those rabid fans cheering them on.
Tough to call a winner here. All games but the first one have been high scoring with the last 3 having totals of 10, 7 and 8. I like the goals to keep coming in game 5.
Over 6.5 incl OT

Graeme: I’ll only bet one team if they are a decent underdog. Tampa are about 2.05 to 2.10 it seems. That’s not bad but very small value there and the way this series is going it does seem like Leafs will get the W.
With that – the last two Leafs wins haven’t been great for the over. The first game was 5-0, the second one was that flukey one we won. I’ll skip this one. No bet.
Blues vs Wild Bets:
Scott: This series is turning into a good one. I thought the Wild would walk all over the Blues but that hasn’t been the case.
The Blues went with Binnington and he was great for them. Have to wonder if the Blues come together to rally around him.
I still like the Wild to win the series but they have their work cut out for them now. With game 5 in Minnesota they need to win or face playing St Louis on the road with the series on the line.

Graeme: I was impressed and surprised by the Blues in that last game. I did say they were capable of it but I was concerned about injuries and Kaprizov. They stepped up huge so great to see.
I’ll go with Kaprizov to continue his run. His offensive production has been excellent and from what I saw from him in the last game, the Blues really don’t know how to stop him. He was unlucky not to get more. Kaprizov to score anytime.

Kings vs Oilers Bets:
Scott: The Kings had a huge bounce back win in game 4 to tie the series.
The Oilers are still heavy favorites for game 5. They are the better team on paper but the Kings coming into this one after a shutout may give them the boost they need.
No Bet
Graeme: Oilers are that team where I’ve already lost all confidence in betting on them. That last game was horrific even if Quick was excellent. Then you add in their own goaltending woes.
Thing is we know what they are capable of.
I’m not seeing any bets in this one. The over doesn’t seem worth it considering two of the games have had shutouts.
No Bet
No bets on sides today, I’ll be watching some games. Tough calls with anything else with these series tied up. The Wild and Blues now know they face playing Colorado for sure, who will be well rested, so they aught to want to finish this series in 6. When the Kings were shutout, they didn’t respond strongly. The Oilers were just shutout, so we’ll see if LA can handle a fast and pissed off Oilers in Edmonton. It just got serious for these four series, too close to call.
I´m taking Wild -1,5
Good luck boys!
Good evening Sirs! I am go with Graeme and Kaprizov to score, take a point Mcdavit and Draisaitl. I’ll take that 20units. Hope good luck to everyone.
