Round 2 of the NHL 2013 Playoffs started last night, and there were some interesting games. Pittsburgh walked all over Ottawa in a 4-1 victory, although 2 of the goals were powerplay goals. It says something as Ottawa had 5 power plays to the Penguins 4, yet Pitt were able to capitalize AND score a short-handed goal for good measure.
In the other game, the LA Kings had a solid performance against the Sharks to win 2-0, with Quick the star of the game. Despite the shutout, we saw that that series will be close and are still confident it’ll go over 5.5 games, as per our tips yesterday.
Tonight we have just the one game, the Detroit Red Wings vs the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 1 of that series. Chicago have home advantage.
We’re going to hopefully do some live betting tips tonight – so remember:

That’s it – we’ll be watching and hopefully posting some live betting tips if we see opportunities arise. We had some great winning nights during round 1, and hoping to see it continue. I(Graeme) just bought a new Galaxy S4 and I’m pumped to take it for a whirl with some live betting – much easier to use than my Blackberry.
Blackhawks vs Red Wings Betting Tips
The Blackhawks go into this game after a nice easy 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild in Round 1 and a nice easy regular season. Quite the contrast to Detroit who barely made it into the playoffs, and had to take it to Game 7 to defeat the Ducks.
On top of all that, the Blackhawks beat the Red Wings in all 4 games of the regular season. 1 game went to OT, 2 to shootouts and then there was the Blackhawks 7-1 thumping of Detroit IN Detroit.
We’re going to tip Under 5 goals in this game as our only pre-game tip of the game. You can currently get 1.90 odds on that at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv.
We’d love to get the 5.5, but Under 5 will have to do.
Bar that 7-1 game, in the regular season the games between these two were very tight. Game 1s in any series are usually tight too – there’s always a feeling out process. Neither team wants to start the series off with a loss obviously – so they play tight, conservative hockey. Whoever takes the lead first focuses more on protecting that lead than trying to extend it.
So our only pre-game tip for tonight is Under 5 goals 1.9 odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv.
