Two NHL series were wrapped up yesterday.

The Dallas Stars got the big win in double OT over the Colorado Avalanche. An impressive overall performance from the Stars, who have battled really hard in the playoffs and move on to face either the Oilers or the Canucks.

That disallowed goal call. Horrific. The officiating is getting worse.

The Panthers beat the Bruins in Game 6 with a tight 2-1 win. They now face the New York Rangers, with Game 1 on Wednesday.

We’ve got one more series to wrap up, and Game 6 is in Edmonton tonight as the Oilers host the Canucks.

Oilers vs Canucks Game 6 Betting Tips:

Scott: Miller scored with 32 seconds left to take the lead and give the Canucks the 3-2 win.

I don’t know what else I can say about this series. It’s been a back and forth battle. They have traded wins so far and each game has been decided by 1 goal.

With their playoff lives on the line and playing at home I would expect the Oilers to come out swinging in this game. But who knows what’s going to happen. If the trend of each team trading wins continues then then it’s the Oilers turn. But it would have to be Oilers in regulation and with each game being 1 goal wins I’m not comfortable doing that.

No Bet

Graeme: Scott basically summed it up – based on how things are swinging back and forth, Oilers would be the favourites. But everything is so tight that you just can’t take them in regulation.

I was impressed with the Canucks last game. Some of the coaching changes made by Tocchet in that one. And when I look at the depth and overall line strength etc – man, I like Vancouver.

When you’re betting against McDavid & Draisaitl, it’s basically about the odds. And I think the odds are enough to back the Canucks today.

Call me crazy – but looking at overtime stats and metrics, I would give a significant edge to the Oilers. Is it enough to overcome the actual odds? Probably not. The current odds of about 2.70 for Canucks to win are still fine and +EV. But it may be worth considering the Canucks to win in regulation. Or do a “Draw No Bet” if you are looking for a safer bet.

I’ll just stick with Canucks incl OT though because if it does go to OT, at least I’m getting the entertainment value out of my bet.

This is very tough to call. Every idea I get is basically just me wanting something to happen, where the track record and situational factors are not giving me clear indicators. Close game no doubt, I hope it’s good hockey. No bets on this one.

We had 5 close games in a row. I wouldn’t expect another close game. The odd for the Oilers is bullshit. Value is clearly on Vancouver to break this back and forth series.
