The Edmonton Oilers move on to the next round of the NHL Playoffs. I said Oilers -1.5 was my favourite series bet, and that proved right. Bet big on it, so glad it came in without much of a sweat.
Scott also profited big in that one as he took Oilers -2.5 at 3.50 odds. Thank you Edmonton.
Dallas moved one step closer with the victory over the Knights. Game 6 in Vegas will take place tomorrow night.
Tonight we have the lone game, Maple Leafs vs Bruins. Game 6, Leafs playoff lives are on the line.
Leafs vs Bruins Game 6 Betting Tips:
Scott: Well game 5 saw the Leafs win. Matthews was out and they still picked up the win. Woll started and he picked up the win and the Leafs finally beat Swayman. Domi played center and went a great 12 of 14.
With them finally beating Swayman and doing so without Matthews they Leafs are going to be riding high. With this game in Toronto the Leafs will need to find a way to get the win at home and force a game 7.

Graeme: Leafs won the last game which I called, putting me at 3-1 for individual game bets for this series which is nice. Even without Matthews, they were able to get the win and were quite dominant.
It’s interesting looking at the data. They aren’t creating the high danger chances anymore at all the last two games. They have really changed things about a bit.
The Leafs way really does seem like they’ll win this one doesn’t it? Win the game, force a Game 7, then be up 4-1 on the Bruins with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third. Seems likely.
Looking at the metrics for the series, offensively Leafs have been better in Corsi & Fenwick but poorer xGF% and of course SCGF%.
I dunno – this one is just really too tight to call. It does appear to be 50/50 and the bookies have the odds at that so I’m not seeing a bet.
If I were to make a call, it’d be the Bruins as the Leafs just haven’t really shown what they are fully capable of in the playoffs.

Possible props: Nylander, Domi, Marchand
The trigger names are going to be Nylander and Marchand, too easy to see. Toronto has many other names who are likely to score. Both teams will want depth scoring. Domi is showing up as a major workhorse and being very effective in chasing the puck and driving the play. He’s fast and sharp, can distract and piss players off, just needs, as all Leafs need, to remain opportunistic, focused and avoid penalties. This is going to be close fast hockey and both teams are shadowing players well, but the speed means breaking out of patterns can happen at any moment and scoring chances will show up. Toronto REALLY needs to insist on retaining team control of the puck and not dump and chase. Every second counts. The overall goal total should not go high, so 6.0 looks good. Can’t pick a side and the props are an issue because I don’t see the score going high. Go Leafs!
