One half of the Stanley Cup Finals has been determined, as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Rangers in Game 7 to progress.
It was yet another extremely poor performance from the Rangers, and was a repeat of the Game 5 performances. Rangers just looked asleep, and did not look like a team who were within reaching distance of the Stanley Cup Final. You could possibly put that down to fatigue etc catching up with them – but then you’d have to discount their terrific performance in Game 6.
If you were a Rangers fan, you should be disgusted by their last two performances. Well done to the Tampa Bay Lightning – who deserve to be in the Stanley Cup Final.
Now we move onto Game 7 of the other conference; Blackhawks vs Ducks. Hopefully we’ll have a more exciting game between these two. Let’s get to the tips:
Scott: This might be one of the best playoffs series ever. Easily the best of this postseason. They have traded wins and each game has been close. Great chance that this game goes to OT and it would only be fitting as 3 of the 6 have already needed extra time.
People are going to call me biased and maybe I am. But I like the Hawks chances to move onto the finals. They have been in this situation before with success and have won two of the last five cups. This is going to be a coin toss game but I have to go with my gut. Blackhawks Win
Graeme: You’re biased. Really though – it’s hard to bet against the Blackhawks. These two teams have played so tight, and 2 of the 3 games have went to OT in Anaheim with Hawks winning 1. You’ve got what is essentially a 50/50 battle, so betting the Blackhawks at 2.15 isn’t too bad.
I can make an argument for both teams. Blackhawks have the pedigree and the experience; Ducks however have often looked slightly the better team, and have some tremendous skill. Can they bring in a big performance for the home fans? I’m going to bet it goes to overtime myself. 3.60 odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
