The Florida Panthers showed the Boston Bruins “What’s Up” in Game 2, with a resounding bounce back game where they absolutely destroyed the Bruins.
A huge victory for the Panthers and a much needed one as their offense got rolling again and Swayman got lit up.
We had a fantastic game in Vancouver where the Canucks pulled a big comeback to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 5-4. Huge result for the Canucks who were able to go toe to toe with that Oilers offense and then some.
Two games today, one with a venue change.
Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 3 Betting Tips:
Scott: Game 2 was insane.
Shesterkin was amazing making 54 saves in the 4-3 double overtime win. This was the Rangers 6th straight win in these playoffs and 8th straight going back into the regular season.
The Canes did everything they could taking 57 shots but Shesterkin was awesome. The series now shifts to Carolina for 2 games and the Canes are going to need to use the home advantage to get themselves back into this.
I had picked the Canes to win the series and they still have a shot but I want to see how they perform at home before I tip them.

Graeme: What was really interesting about that game 2 was despite the significant difference in shots, the xG as practically the same. So it was a bit more quality for quanity than the Rangers and a lot of their offensive metrics for that one are quite impressive.
The Canes will hope home ice is a big factor considering they won all 3 here against the Islanders. I remember writing that those two road games concerned me metric wise in round 1. That was part of the reason I backed the Rangers to win the series.
Must admit I quite like those Rangers odds toight at 2.50. But I’m going to go with the Over 5.5 again. Looking at the Canes home games against the Islanders, they didn’t shut down defensively too much, so with the way the Rangers are producing I think they can get the goals to contribute here. I could see them attempting to focus more on defense but in a crucial game 3, strategy can go out the window early.

Stars vs Avalanche Game 2 Betting Tips:
Scott: Game one was a fun game to watch. The Stars were up 3-0 after the 1st but the Avs managed to score the next 3 to tie it and force overtime where they won it 11 minutes in.
It was the usual players doing the scoring for the Avs with MacKinnon and Makar scoring and Nichushkin scoring his 8th.
With game 2 still in Dallas I would expect them to have a better game and if they get the lead to not let their foot off the gas.
Stars win incl OT

Graeme: A mental game 1. looking at the overall metrics, the Avs were better offensively in some spots quite close, but in others such as xGF were huge.
My entire write-up for the series was about high danger chances and that’s exactly what happened. Avs had HDCF of 11 and converted 2 of them. Stars meanhile had 8 and only converted the 1. That was the story of round 1 which I covered, so it’s neat to see it come to fruition here.
I’ve went back and forth and although I don’t know if there is enough value, I’m going to take the Avs to win incl OT tonight. I’d rather something like 2.30 odds where I’d feel comfortable with it. But just looking at the poor Stars chance creation, I’m happy to take the Avs as dogs. I could argue that this is a 50/50 game – well, as long as we discount regular season home/road data.
Man I’m close to talking myself out of this one actually. It’s a very borderline pick. If this isn’t the playoffs, I pass. Damnit no it’s just too close for me.

Rangers +150.
Price is a big reason behind taking the Rangers here. I expect Carolina to win at home. But there’s a world where desperation can take Carolina off their game and have them forcing and rushing things. taking volume shots but not waiting for quality ones. At the odds being offered it’s worth the risk to me.
Still haven’t looked at Colorado vs Dallas, so I might update with a play if I have time to look for something. But Dallas blowing that 3-0 lead and the overall way they’ve played, I would like to see a solid game from them. Not sure though.
Just looking real quick at Colorado vs Dallas, I’ll take Under 6.5 at -118.
