Metropolitan Division Betting Odds
We will go over each team in the Metropolitan and let you know who we think has the best chance of winning it.
The Metro is a division that features some of the best players in the league and sure to be hall of famers. There are 8 teams in the division: Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals.
All the teams in the Metropolitan Division are listed below and also listed are the odds for them to win the division. The odds will change but this is a list of what we find on average.

Metropolitan Division Winners Betting Tips
The Capitals lost in the first round of the playoffs last year but their core still remains from their Stanley Cup winning roster 2 seasons ago.
Ovechkin won his 8th Rocket Richard Trophy and they still have Kuznetsov, as long as he can stay out of trouble away from the ice, Oshie and Backstrom. They are a deep offensive team who had a league best 7 players hit the 20 goal mark.
Carlson is their best defenseman and they will need him more than ever with Niskanen and Orpik gone. They’ll have a healthy Kempny which will help too.
Holtby is in the final year of his contract. He has a Vezina and a Stanley Cup under his belt so they are in good hands with him in goal.
The Metro is a strange division where there are at least 4 teams who could win it. But its the Caps having the extra time off after an early exit who have the best chance.

Metropolitan Division Betting Analysis
Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pens have been a great team for a while. Having Crosby and Malkin will do that for you. Although Crosby is 32 he still hit 100 points last year. They traded Phil Kessel for Alex Galchenyuk who isn’t as strong at scoring goals but playing on Crosby’s line will help his goal totals climb. I expect a bounce back year from Malkin too.
Letang is their linchpin on defense and as long as he can stay healthy they’ll be fine. Johnson and Gudbranson seem like the odd men out but as the 5th and 6th guys on a team thats a good problem to have.
Murray is great when he can stay healthy. Hes playing for a new contract so he could have a grest year.

New York Islanders
Nobody expected the Isles to be as good as they were last year. They lost Tavares and still made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. They made no improvements to the team so not sure how their season will go.
They have Varlamov as their new goalie this year and he will split duties with Thomas Greiss. They will miss Lehner for sure.
They had a great year last season thanks to great coaching but with no new faces I dont see them having a huge improvement for 2 years in a row.

Carolina Hurricanes
The Canes have quietly built a team that could challenge for the division title this year and moving forward. Aho has been amazing and Svechnikov has the potential to follow suit as does Necas. They added depth with Dzingel and Haula
Their defense is underrated with Slavin, Faulk, Pesce, Hamilton, van Riemsdyk and Fleury as their top 6.
Mrazek had a good bounce back year in goal and now has James Reimer as his back up.

New Jersey Devils
This team could have the best turn around in the league this season.
They were 29th overall and won the draft lottery and smartly picked Jack Hughes. He and Hischier will be an incredible 1-2 punch down the middle for years to come. They also picked up Wayne Simmonds who is due for a big bounce back year. If Hall can stay healthy they can do damage.
On defense they picked up a new number 1 with P.K Subban. Hes a great player and even better person away from the ice.
In goal is where it gets tricky. Blackwood has taken over as the starter with Schneider’s health issues but could reclaim his role with ease.

Philadelphia Flyers
Giroux and Voracek have been the main offensive guys on the team for years. But they are now getting help from Konecny and Couturier. They added Hayes and Pitlick for depth.
On Defense the Flyers have a few yougsters ready to make the jump but only 2 spots open. But thats a great problem to have.
Hart may be the goalie the Flyers have been searching for for years. Elliott will be his backup

New York Rangers
Another team like the Devils who could, and should, see a huge improvement this season.
Grabbing Kakko with 2nd overall pick in the draft instantly helps the team and landing Panarin was a big win. Depth scoring may hurt them but they are heading in the right direction.
Trouba was acquired and he will now lead their defense. He had a big year last season for the Jets with 50 points.
Lundqvist will have a bounce back year with a better team in front of him.

Columbus Blue Jackets
After deciding to make a push last season and hold onto some big names, the Jackets now have nothing to show for it besides a huge first round sweep of the Lightning. That was their first playoff series win in franchise history.
But they lost Panarin, Duchene, Dzingel and Bobrovsky. I’m not sure how they will do without them but I’m guessing it will be bad.
