Another solid night of NHL betting tips as we again went 2-1.

First we had the Panthers to beat the Oilers. This tip had mixed reviews where most people thought it would go the Oilers way. But it was the Panthers coming away with the 4-2 win.

Our other win came when we had the Blackhawks to bounce back against the Wild and they covered the spread for us winning 4-1.

We had the Ducks to win in regulation but the won in a shootout. It was great that the Ducks retired Selanne’s number 8 on a night when the Jets were in town. The Jets were the team who Selanne first played for , and scored 76 goals in his rookie year, and the Ducks the last team.

Sorry for the tips being late and short today.

Three games on tonight: Avalanche vs Capitals, Lightning vs Flyers and Maple Leafs vs Kings.

Avalanche vs Capitals Betting Tips

Both of these teams come into this game on good runs and it seems as though they have finally hit their stride.

The Caps are 7-1-2 in their last 10 and the Avs are 7-3 and on a 3 game winning streak.

This is tough to predict the winner of this game. Both teams on fire and trying to get themselves back into the playoff picture. Both teams can score and I think they both will tonight.

Over 5.5 for 1.95 at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Lightning vs Flyers Betting Tips

The Lightning come into this game on fire winning 3 in a row including going 7-1 in their last 8 games.

The Lightning will go with Nabokov tonight and the Flyers will go with Rob Zepp. With both number one goalies resting or hurt there is potential for a high scoring game so we are going to back that.

Over 5.5 for 1.77

Leafs vs Kings Betting Tips

The Leafs got their first win since firing coach Randy Carlyle. Now that they got that out of the way they can get back to business.

The Kings are struggling right now. They are 4-2-4 in their last 10 games and come into this on a 2 game losing streak. They are without both Pearson and Toffoli in this one also.

This game could go either way but I think the Leafs have a good shot at winning this one. And with the odds for a Leafs win at 2.70 we have to take them.

I got Avs/Col @ 2.15 for over 5.5 at bet365.

Think you’re right with the Leafs tip. With 3/4 games in ‘death valley’ that includes a BtoB plus St.L…yikes! They have their best chances against LA & SJ.

If Bishop & Emery were starting, I would take TB but Nabokov has more GP than Zepp and if you take into account TB has a great record against Phi and motivated to win playing a BtoB with Bos, I would favour TB.

Knowing they have to play BtoB the Avs will be motivated and hava a chance to win if Varlamov starts but Wash is very strong so it’s hard to call. Thanks for the tips. Good luck tonight!

Agreed with Leafs tip. LAK have no heart and with those guys out it really disrupts their lines. TB ML, with bonus bet on TB + 1 1/2. Zepp got lit up the last time he had a cup of coffee in the show and Nabokov is a seasoned pro. I like parlay with Avs +1 1/2 and Leafs +1 1/2. pays +133 on my site

Getting ahead of things but what do you guys think of Isles @ NYR tomorrow? What a great game that will be. Hard to pick a winner with the way both teams are playing and for Isles it would huge to knock of NYR. Both teams can run and gun, but I think it will be a night of tight checking and under 5 1/2

So i got my start with sports select and then transitioned over to using Bodog, I had gotten used to parlays and after i fell about a grand under i started trying to make it back, tons of 4-1 parlays that narrowly missed in both the NFL and NHL but my biggest ones were always NFL plays. Now I am 4300 under. Any advice on how to proceed?

SanDiegoBruinsD

First, cut way back on the parlays. It’s so hard to make them unless you’re looking at two plays. 3+ plays, especially in NHL, are very difficult to make. NHL is much less certain than NFL/MLB. There is much more parity and on any given night a bad team can beat a good team. You don’t have to look further than Oilers or Sabres for proof of that. If you do a parlay, don’t look for a home run. Just go for +EV. One thing I do is play +1 1/2 with teams that I know are going to be evenly matched. Try to find -150–200 odds for those games. For example, tonight I think both Avs and Leafs are good +1 1/2 bets. Put them in a two team-single parlay to get some +EV. You can also look for mismatches or teams that are really sucking wind. Wild and Sabres are headed backwards right now. Next, look for sharper SU bets. Look for situations where teams at the end of a long road trip are playing well-rested teams who have some confidence. Don’t bet against teams who are streaking: NYR, Caps, Avs, Isles. Consider goalie matchups and injuries. I like Leafs tonight b/c LAK are struggling and lost two key forwards. Plus, Leafs are getting out of TO and will be feeling more relaxed. Last, lower the amount of your bets. On any night, you shouldn’t be betting more than 5-10% of your bankroll. If you’re down $4300, don’t bet more than $20-$25/night. for stats check out donbest and nhl.com. good luck
