I usually love Winter but man – I am done with it. I’m over it. Bring on Summer with the ridiculous humidity. I’m ready for you.

Seriously – went to take my dog out this morning, and with the wind chill it was -48!!!! How is this a thing? Props to the people who went to the Winter Classic yesterday and sat in the nosebleeds. Don’t think I could do it.

Our BetNHL December Dynasty Contest sponsored by Bovada is now over and I’d like to thank everyone who participated. We’ll be sure to run another one of these contests down the road – and we’ll be having an NHL Playoff Contest for SURE! You can see the full leaderboard here.

No-one went 30-0 to win the XBox One or PS4. Here are the standings and prizes:

#1: Jack F. $100 Cash plus $100 Free Bet at Bodog/Bovada.
#2: Patrik. $50 Cash.
#3: TIE. Me, Georgi N., Hanif, John J. and Ryan B.

Now I don’t count – however the other 4 will enter a tiebreaker to see who wins $25 cash. I’ll contact them all separately and the tiebreaker will be based on the Habs vs Blackhawks game that myself and Scott will be attending in 9 days. I’ll also contact the winners soon.

On that note – by beating Scott with my 21-9 record to his 15-15 record, prior to the game we will be hitting up Hooters for beer and wings. As the loser, Scott has to pick up the tab! Woot woot!

Alright, it’s January 2nd 2014. It’s bloody freezing – let’s get on with the NHL Betting Tips:

Jets vs Senators: Senators To Win In Regulation

2.10 odds for that one.

First time they’ve played this season. Jets are on a nice run at the moment and are looking for 4 wins in a row. Senators also have 2 back to back wins going into this game.

I really liked the last couple of games from Ottawa at home though. They were vicious against the Penguins, alive throughout the Bruins matchup, and were downright dominating over the Capitals. Their penalty kill unit in particular was really solid.

I like the Senators to do the business, and hoping to see the consistency from Anderson carry into tonight. Back the Senators to win at http://www.5Dimes.eu(Need to register to see lines).

.

Bruins vs Predators: Over 5.5

The actual line for this one is 5 goals. However based on the last few games these teams have played, I’m going to be risking it a bit more and go Over 5.5. You can change lines at http://www.5Dimes.eu(Need to register to see lines) and the 5.5 is a healthy 2.10 odds. Both teams have the ability to hammer in the goals even if they’re losing and I like the Predators to get a goal or two against the Bruins.

At the same book – Bruins in regulation is a good bet as well.

Stars vs Canadiens: Stars to Win

The Habs had a disaster of a game against the Hurricanes. They’ve been lacking consistency and discipline at the moment. Not sure what is going on there.

Dallas meanwhile have been on a great run and haven’t lost in regulation since the middle of December. I always like a hot team, and I like the Stars to take this. Montreal can be good for pushing a game though, hence why we are backing Stars to win overall, not in regulation.

Entertainment Bet: Grand Salami Over 55.5

With the potential for a lot of high scoring games today, the Salami line is set at 55.5. It really only needs one major scoring game – and there’s a good chance the Sharks will do just that against the Oilers. Back this one at http://www.5Dimes.eu(Need to register to see lines)
