Good night of hockey and the playoff picture is still very much undecided which makes for a great finish to the season.

The Kings won 3-1 to push their winning streak to 6 games, the Avalanche held off the Red Wings 3-2 in OT to extend their winning streak to 4 games and the Sabres spoiled the return of Stamkos winning as they beat the Lightning 3-1.

Teams who have a shot at the playoffs need to win these games as teams are playing spoiler and would love nothing more than to take that chance away. For some teams they only have 18 games left so a loss hurts so much more than it did at the beginning of the year.

5 games for us today and a couple of important ones. First in the East vs first in the West as the Penguins take on the Ducks, the Rangers continue their push to the playoffs when the play the Hurricanes and it’s unfamiliar territory for the Red Wings as they are in 8th place and taking on a team who is only 2 points behind them, the Devils.

Not a lot of games on but some good ones to look forward to. Could only come up with 2 tips though. Like the Wings to win but are really banged up and without many of their best players but it’s hard to bet against them. Also the Sabres vs Panthers and Islanders vs Flames are battles of teams with nothing to lose as they all won’t be in the playoffs so really hard to predict.

Let’s get back to a winning night with the NHL betting tips for Friday, March 7th.

Rangers vs Hurricanes: Rangers Win

The Rangers are on a 3 game losing streak and have a couple teams within 2 points of them. They need to end this streak now if they are to stay in the playoffs.

The Hurricanes are still mathematically in the playoffs but need to play perfect and go on a nice long winning streak to make it in. But with the teams that are in front if them it’s a steep hill to climb to accomplish this.

But the Rangers are the better team and although in the long run they may have overpaid for him the acquisition of Marty St. Louis will help them this year.

Bet the Rangers to snap their losing streak and beat the Hurricanes for 1.76 betting odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Penguins vs Ducks: Over 5.5 goals

This should be a great game. It’s the 2nd and final game with Pittsburgh winning the first one 3-1.

This is a tough game to predict a winner as both teams are tops of their respective conferences. Both teams have played only average since the Olympics so this is really a coin flip as to who will win it.

The Penguins are banged up right now and are missing defenseman Kris Letang and Paul Martin as well as forward Pascal Dupuis. The Ducks are without the newly acquired Stephane Robidas.

With all of the Defense hurt it looks like a nice high scoring game so let’s go with Over 5.5 goals for 1.90 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.
