There was 3 games yesterday and we didn’t have any tips.

The Leafs beat the Flyers 3-0.  Campbell made 36 saves in win.   This was his 2nd shutout of the season.  Nylander scored twice for Toronto and now has 7 on the year.

The road team Predators beat the Stars 4-2.  Johansen and Duchene both scored for the Preds and it’s nice to see those guys still chipping in offensively.

The final game of the night was the Wild vs the Coyotes and the Wild won 5-2.  Not a huge surprise here as the Coyotes have been terrible and didn’t use their momentum from their first win.

There is a bunch of games tonight and we will go quickly through each one and see what we like.

Oilers vs Bruins Betting Tips:

At first I was thinking the Oilers would win this game as they have had a great season so far going 9-2.

But the Bruins are at home and have won all 5 home games this season.

It’s tough to pick a winner here.   The Oilers seem like the right pick but the Bruins have been perfect at home.

Islanders vs Devils Betting Tips:

This is another game where the visiting team seems like the right pick but I can’t back it.

The Devils have been a good team this season, much better than I thought they would be.   They have won 2 in a row including beating the Panthers 7-3.

Panthers vs Penguins Betting Tips:

The Panthers have been great so far this season but now enter this game on a 3 game road skid.

The Penguins have gone 4-3-4 this season despite missing Crosby and Malkin for most of the season.

I think the Panthers will win this game and snap their road losing streak.

Kings vs Senators Betting Tips:

The Kings have win their last 6 games, the Sens have lost their last 5.

The odds for a Kings win are good.  It seems as though the sportsbooks have no respect for the Kings.

If the Sens come alive in this game and beat the Kings ending both teams streaks then so be it.  But I like the Kings chances and the odds make this an easy play.

Flames vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

The Flames have been strong all year.  They have gone 7-2-3 including 5-1 when on the road.  The Habs have gone 3-10-1 and 2-5-1 at home.

Of the Flames 7 wins this season, 6 have been won in regulation.  As their record shows, the Habs have been bad.  The have only 1 game needing extra time, which they lost.

Capitals vs Red Wings Betting Tips:

And yet another game where I initially liked the road team to win but was put off by the records.

The Wings have won 3 in a row and have gone 4-1-2 at home.  They have best some strong teams this season and beat the Caps in their last meeting.

Predators vs Blues Betting Tips:

The Predators played last night and this is their 3rd back to back this season with the 1st two being split, winning 1 and losing the other.

The Blues have been solid all year winning their 1st 5 games and alternating wins and losses since.

With the Preds record in back to back games and the Blues trading wins and losses in their last 6 I have no idea who wins here.

Sharks vs Jets Betting Tips:

I have no idea who wins here.  The Sharks are 4-2 on the road, the Jets 4-1-1 at home.

Would lean towards a Jets win but it would need to be in regulation and I don’t have the confidence in that to make it a tip.

Canucks vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

Both teams haven’t had great starts.   The Canucks have gone 5-6-2, the Avs 4-5-1.

The Avs will be without MacKinnon for a few weeks so you’d think that this is the Canucks game to win.  But the Avs are a deep team and they will need someone else to step up in MacKinnon’s absence.

Ducks vs Kraken Betting Tips:

Nope.   Nothing here I like.  The Ducks have won their last 5 in a row, the Kraken have gone 3-2 at home.

Wild vs Knights Betting Tips:

The Wild played last night and won.  The Knights are like the Penguins in that two of their best players have been out for most of the year yet have had a decent start all things considered.

Could make an argument for each team here but I feel it’s safer to avoid this game.

NHL First Period Betting Tips:

Win Record (Tie=Push) 0-0-1. (0u)
Over 1.5 Record: 1-1 (-0.2u)

Islanders 3-way win at 2.20 odds.

Would you recommend any games for the over 6 in regulation?

Western RattlersD

Third Period moneyline: Calgary
Not seeing much today actually. LA has been winning but by defense; they don’t score a lot and are not great on the powerplay, and now against Ottawa who have some talent. Boston is no slouch, and didn’t feel a clear option is merging today with St. Louis, Washington, Colorado or Anaheim.

Sens have given up 5-5-7 in their L3 home games. LAK have scored at least 3 in their L3

Betting on the Kings, Calgary and, gulp, Oilers. Bs really only have one that produces and the rest have been unsettled due to injuries. I think their D will really struggle with McD. Oilers TT over 2.5 is a very good value. In 11 games so far this season, they have only scored fewer than 3 goals 3 times. How about them apples?
