Well 4 games yesterday and all of them but 1 were decided by a single goal.

The Hawks vs Devils game was a great game.  The Hawks were leading 4-2 after the first period but the Devils had a great 2nd outscoring Chicago 4-1.  The Devils added another in the 3rd and came out 7-5 winners.  Miles Wood had a huge game scoring a hat trick and adding an assist.

The Oilers – Caps game was a low scoring game and the Caps won 2-1 in a shootout.  I expected this to be a great high scoring game but it stayed low.

Another one I expected to be high scoring was the Lightning vs Ducks game but this one also ended at 2-1 for the Lightning.

The final game of the night was the Sharks vs the Kings and this one was won by the Sharks by a score of, you guessed it, 2-1.

Another slow night of action with only 2 games.  We could only come up with the 1 tip

Stars vs Hurricanes  Betting Tips:

This is the first game of a three game road trip for Dallas.

The Stars are 8-2 over the last 10 against the Hurricanes including the last 6 straight.

The Canes are an inconsistent team.  They are 2-2-3 at home this season and 6-5-4 overall on the year.

Bishop has been great against the Canes and is expected to start this game.  He is 8-1-1 with a 1.89 GAA and .942 save percentage against them over his career.

With their recent success against them and Bishops numbers I like the Stars in this game .

stars and blues

benn, seguin, skinner, schwartz, steen and monahan to score

I got them yesterday with Bishop confirmed! It will be a thought game, but it’s impossible to ignore the huge value on the odd. The trip is also short.

Stars ML @ 2.16

I just want to advice to the fact that Stars (1st PP%) results are highly dependent from the opponent penalty time and Canes is the team with lower penalty time. The difference between the number of goals 5on5 and 5on4 show that and also the SOG. On the other hand Canes has the higher 5on5 SOG. I think this point will be crucial and sometimes is underrated on the analysis. I am also concerned about the better performance of Canes in the 3P. I still like the chances of Stars, but… Or they start big or if the games goes tied to the 3P I’ll be scared.

AlansonD

If you think it is 50:50, take OT. 😛

Caesium

Yeah, you know what I mean. I am expecting an even more close game after going deeper on the stats.

Caesium

Great goal by Aho. Nice technique.

Serviette Sky

if they are first in the league in PP% doesnt it mean that they need less time in PP to score ? so even if the canes take less penalties, the stars just need one or two to make them pay

Caesium

PP% = (#PPgoals / #PP) * 100 not about time.

Eddy

again, an amazing analysis on the 3rd periode !!!

Oliver Trigg

Got to agree on the Stars, so much value there and considering they’ve won the last 6 h2h meetings and 5 of the last 6 in Carolina I reckon they’ll take the W here.

Mojo

Thinking about Under 10.5 grand salami. Carolina is a defensive minded team that struggles to score and I think will try to slow the Stars down in the neutral zone. St.Louis is also a team that tends to play tighter hockey on the road. Thoughts?

Oliver Trigg

Hhhhmm I don’t know about that, 36 goals in Dallas v Carolina in last 5 games alone. In St Louis v Calgary 5 has been the lowest scored between them. I would avoid that personally. I would take St Louis ML if I was going to bet it, but their recent performances have turned me away (Islanders, Flyers and Coyotes all games they should have easily won)…

Average goals in last 5 for Dallas v Carolina – 7.2
Average goals in last 5 St Louis v Calgary 7.6.

On a purely stats based approach the under seems a bad play.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Good analysis but teams change so much from year to year that I don’t count history too much.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Stars are another team that shows up when it suits them. Seguin has all the talent in the world but he’s a lazy shit. Typical of this team

magus1349

Man, the Hawks suck lol. Leading 4-1 in the first and losing the game against the Devils at home, that would’ve never happened in the past. It’s becoming clearer and cleared by the day that they aren’t the same team anymore. Same can be said for the Caps though.. mustering 19 shots against the Oilers at home with Brossoit in net did not leave me impressed.. At least Tampa got it done.

Really annoying games tonight, both most likely real close and it feels like you’re betting on a bounce here or there, or a missed call.

That said, a lot of games seem to be that way right now. Im noticing myself giving OT a thought in like every other game, and these are no different.

I see cases for Dallas and Calgary, but at the same time neither the Canes or Blues are happy campers and both teams can obviously compete with their opponents. Carolina should be extremely motivated to finally beat the Stars tonight, they already came close in the first meeting after coming back from 4 down to 4-3, and despite the meltdown against Chicago, they’ve played really well the last few games. Blues have taken the foot off the gas pedal in their last couple, but they have great confidence against the Flames, i think they’ve come back from a deficit in 3 of their last 4 meetings (2 they won, 1 lost in OT).

Im probably going to bet on the Stars and Flames though as i think the value is there, and throw some little amount for a double OT bet.

And FWIW, for people looking to bet overs/unders, i’d think there’s going to be goals in both games. Not an expert on those though.

chicago and washington are the worst for playing money this year. i put them on my blacklist 3 weeks ago and im happy i did

Mojo

Yes Chicago has been on the black list for 2 or 3 years now. They are legitimately awful. Bottom 8 team in the league honestly.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Completely agree, my Bruins are going in the same pile. You see a lot more effort from far less talented teams like Canes or Decils

Mojo

I’m thinking about Under 10.5 combined. What you think?

Arto Reinikainen

Hope you went for it, looking at it more, i actually think there’s a good chance Blues-Flames will be low scoring. But yeah, not an expert on overs/unders.

Arto Reinikainen

Nope 😛

AlansonD

Going for value is a good choice, but I think Flames could have more value e.g. as away team. I’m not going to bet tonight. Hope you don’t feel forced to pick both games, because there will come better days. :))

Mojo

Alanson you like Under 10.5 in the two games combined?

AlansonD

No, I want to see a lot of goals. 😛
I usually don’t suggest such bets. I’m thinking like they could have good days and score a lot or they have bad days and can’t score. Maybe a team with a lot of games the recent days forces a game to go under. I really don’t know what points tell me what scores I can expect. Sometimes you think oh that’s like 3:2 win. And it will become the 3:2, but the next time you totally fail. 😀 If you think about those teams presenting their best goalies, then you may be right and there could be value. But you don’t know if one of them has a bad day and that’s maybe why you ask others to get some opinions, because you feel that this bet couldn’t be worth the try. Where experienced people tell you not to do it, if you have a bad record on such bets.

Lucas longpré

Hello guys , my tips for tonight Carolina and St-Louis to win with both games goes over 5.5 ! For last night , Arto resume perfectly what im thinking about the Hawks and the caps ! Man , ovy missed the net maybe 80 time in the game unreal for a guy that scored almost 600 goals ! Good luck

SanDiegoBruinsD

Looking good for first game

Lucas longpré

Pretty lucky but it arrives sometimes,Carolina plays very well in the second half of this game . Dallas are not the same team on the road but lucky to have right on this one

SanDiegoBruinsD

No time for analysis or bets today. Glad I stayed away, tough games to handicap
