It’s been a very interesting season of hockey with a couple of crazy blowouts. We had the Jackets 10-0 win over the Habs, the Jets 8-2 win over the Stars and surprisingly the Capitals 7-1 thrashing last night over the Penguins. That was a crazy one considering the lacklustre performances the Caps put up prior to that game.
We’ve had a bit of a rough start to the NHL Tips this year but we’re not too concerned. Hockey is an incredibly high variance sport and losses are expected. Luck is a large factor too. The main thing is putting your ego aside each day and looking back at the previous bets you made to see if you missed something or were completely wrong etc then learning from it.
For us a big thing this season has been “right team, wrong time” as we’ve lost a good few high value picks on teams who end up following it up with a win. Back in October we tipped the Blue Jackets to beat the Kings & Sharks at big odds. They lost both of those and it put us off the Jackets. Then they come out the very next night and thump the Ducks 4-0.
Canucks are another one. We watched the Leafs game a couple of weeks ago and really felt the Canucks were coming out of their shell, and were due a win. We tipped them against the Islanders and although it was a winnable game they lost that one. What happens? Very next night they come out and hammer the Rangers.
It’s a long season and we’re looking forward to hopefully turning a nice profit.
Onto tonight and it’s a very tricky night. We’ve got two betting picks for you:
Leafs vs Panthers Betting Tips:
Reimer is playing tonight for the Panthers. Often in cases like that we like to stay away from the game – returning to Toronto, there’ll be a buzz around the Florida camp and the players will want to do that bit better and fight for the puck that much more. However we’re going to go with Over 5.5. We know the Leafs can score and concede like crazy. Panthers are fairly leaky on the road however and Reimer himself hasn’t had the best of seasons. We’re going to back this one to go over.

Lightning vs Sabres Betting Tips:
Sad news in Tampa as Stamkos is out indefinitely after getting injured against the Red Wings. Injuries are always an interesting factor when it happens to a big name player like that. Despite the loss of him we like the Lightning to overcome it – for now, and we’re backing Tampa to win in regulation.
Tampa have a strong offense despite Stamkos. And while we’re already looking ahead at a possibly Flyers tip against them on Saturday, we think they have enough to handle Buffalo. The Sabres struggle to score and even at home they’ve been extremely poor while the Lightning have been solid on the road.

Boston in reg. – The Bruins looks solid at the moment and against a Wild team which seems to be slowing a bit down I like the Bruins to get the W. Only Rangers have a better away point percentage than Bruins and I think Bruins will keep going tonight
Tamba in reg. – Similar to Graeme I am not that concerned about the absence of Stamkos – I still think they have enough power to overcome the Sabres tonight. Only Sabres and Flames have an average below 1 point per home game so far this season and against the Lightning I don’t think the Sabres can turn it around
Anaheim in reg. – After a bad start the Ducks seems to have stepped up their game and attitude. Oilers on the other hand looks to be heading the other way so I think the Ducks are the team to go with tonight
TBL in Regulation
OTT/NASH Under 5 Goals
BOS/MIN Under 5 Goals
FLA/TOR Over 5.5 Goals
whats happen to ur twitter acount dude ?
Temporarily shut down while I focus on my work. It will be back later this NHL season. Sorry. I’m posting picks on the Blue Line Bets patreon page until the end of the month, then when I finish my thesis I’ll relaunch everything.
Totally agree how hard is predicting nhl results! too competitive league. To be honest at the moment Iยดve had pay more attention to nba, books look to balance ats wins/losses for a team even though theyยดre good or bad teams, so any team sooner than later win or lose ats.
Flyers, Leafs, Tampa Bay, Bruins and Ducks.
Which one of these games do you feel most confident on?
Leafs, Tampa Bay and Ducks.
Thanks, great tips! U won me some money ๐
Laying a small number with Vancouver looks like a steal tonight and I see Vancouver grabbing an early lead. Arizona is 1-4 in their last 5 games against Pacific division teams and the Coyotes are 3-10 against Western Conference teams. Vancouver at home are 20-8-1 against Arizona and the Canucks are 5-1 in their last 6 meetings. VANCOUVER for win
Been away for a while so not posted in here recently had a few good nights and a few shockers, tonight’s picks for me are Lightning, Flyers, ducks and panthers all moneyline ๐
WTH happened last night yo?
Weird night, i know right :/
Following the last decisions I would take SJ ML, but this ODD isn’t worth the bet, regular to risky and OT without strategy behind. So I can’t take my bet tonight. Yesterday I had some picks for today, but stats changed and now there is nothing left to bet. I’m posting this, because yesterday I wrote I would have a bet for today.
Tomorrow: another day, another dollar ๐
