A disappointing night last night although I’ll tell ya – I’m very glad the Colombus Blue Jackets didn’t win.
That was one of those games where – as always – before making picks we predict the odds, and we had the Blue Jackets at around 2.60. A line we loved. We knew they were going to ride Boston hard and it would have been an easy value bet. So it was very disappointing to see the actual odds. It was frustrating not being able to back them due to those odds when they went up 2-0 – but thankfully it proved to be the right decision.
Disappointing game in Alberta last night as the Oilers couldn’t find the net. That was only the 2nd time all season they were shut out – last time was in a 2-0 loss to the Canucks. Oilers are a team that have really lost the passion too. They were still hungry last night but not at the rate they should have been.

Someone asked last week if when there’s a lot of games we could make a suggestion for the Grand Salami. The line on that is 72.5. 13 games tonight, average of 5.58 goals per game for that line.
We would take the Under. There’s a few games with potential for a lot of goals – but there’s more games where you look at and say “Yep that’s a 3-2”.

Oilers vs Blackhawks Betting Tips:
Our one concern here is the Oilers passion. However they seem to rise up and lift their play against the Blackhawks.
We’re hoping they can do that and get some goals. We’ll be taking Over 5.5 in this one for 1.95 odds. This is one of those games we mentioned during the Salami.
Kings vs Stars Betting Tips:
These two teams always have good games between each other, and generally trade the wins. This season both teams have wins on the road and this is the 3rd and final game between the two.
We like the Kings to come out on top tonight. They haven’t been performing at their best lately but are still picking up the wins. Dallas got the good win over Arizona but their home form has been abysmal other than that.
We’ll take the LA Kings to win tonight at 1.83 odds.
Canadiens vs Bruins Betting Tips:
A tricky game – Habs have destroyed the Bruins twice this season – both games in Montreal. Now the two meet up in Boston.
Games between the two are always interesting. I still remember in 2011 when the Habs beat the Bruins 4-1, only to lose 7-0 2 weeks later. That was the same season where the Bruins won 8-6.
Montreal will be going into the game confident. Boston will really want the win. If you look at Bostons home stats recently, you’d look at the Unders for this one. However you generally have to throw the form book out the window for games lke this.
The line is what decides it for us. The over/under is set at 5 goals at 1.86 odds. Seems one of those lines set based more on the form books, and less on the actual history behind those two teams.
