No tips yesterday. Was going to go with the Kings in regulation if Daccord didn’t play for the Kraken he did so there wasn’t any play there.
Crosby scored the only goal for the Penguins in their 6-1 loss to Utah. This was Crosbys 600th goal becoming the 21st player to accomplish this.
The Avs beat the slumping Panthers 7-4, Jackets won in a shootout 5-4 vs the Canes, Preds beat the Jets 4-1 and McDavid had 2 goals and an assist when the Oilers beat the Rangers 6-2.
So there was 15 games yesterday to only 1 today. Really doesn’t make sense.
Utah vs Maple Leafs
Utah played against the Penguins yesterday and put up 6 goals in the win. They are 4-5-1 in last 10 and 4-5-2 on the road.
The Leafs were one of the two teams who didn’t play yesterday. They are on a 3 game win streak and are 7-2-1 in last 10. They are at home here where they have played well going 9-3-0 so far.
The Leafs have been hit really hard with injuries. Matthews, Knies, Domi, Pacioretty the list goes on and on.
Utah has better Corsi and Fenwick numbers, the Leafs are shooting and scoring more while also giving up less shots and goals and the expected goals for is the same with the Leafs expected to give up fewer.
With Utah having better numbers in Corsi and Fenwick I’m a little put off of taking either team here. The Leafs should win but are missing a bunch of players and Utah has bad numbers over last 10 and on the road.
I’m passing here. Could make a case for each team. Would lean towards the Leafs but just can’t do it and would need to be in regulation and 2 of the 3 games on this win streak came in overtime.
