It was a 1-1 day yesterday with a push as well.
We had the Jets/Panthers over in the early game. that one should have went over but we had to rely on an empty net goal just for the push. The last 12 minutes were full of power plays and Hellebuyck in particular made a couple of sick saves. I would have been pretty damn mad if we didn’t at least get the push there.
We won with the underdog pick of the Red Wings over the Devils. Wings won 4-3 in an explosive finish.
We lost with the over in Jackets vs Sharks. Everyone can take down the MISSING posters now because Bobrovsky finally showed up. Will be interesting to see if he can carry that form on. They have the Kings tomorrow so a good chance they can keep going.
Leafs lost again and they’re really not responding well to the Matthews loss. I was out at the bar last night and mostly watching the NFL and the Habs game but every time I’d look over at the Leafs I didn’t see much intensity from them.
Speaking of – what a game for the Habs. Their offense continues to kill it and if Price can return to HIS true form they could be unstoppable. Nothing for the Panthers/jets today. My gut says under 6 or Panthers win is the play there. Backed the Panthers win myself.
Coyotes vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
This is an interesting one. Knowing the Hurricanes and Coyotes last couple of results, I was expecting the Canes to be underdogs. I was all set to bet them because like I’ve said before – you look at the advanced metrics and they’re at the top or thereabouts in most categories.
I was hoping they’d be at least 2.20 or something because I think no matter the opponent or the location, betting the Canes at a price like that is +EV.
As it is they’re the favourites, so I think we have to follow on from that Red Wings pick and ride the home underdogs in the Arizona Coyotes.
Coyotes have had 4 solid wins in a row. They beat a Sens team who have been able to turn it on and prove a difficult opponent, Tampa, the Canucks and the Jackets. That’s some impressive results.
Their offense is confident at the moment and their goaltending is solid.
The Hurricanes are a tough team to ever back against as you never know when the metrics turn into results or not. Just look at their xGF/60 of 3.9 compared to their GF/60 of 2.88. Any other team I’d say we’d expect to see them start hammering in the goals soon but the Hurricanes never seem to be that team. Hopefully that doesn’t change and they do it tonight.
We’ll go with a wary 0.5u bet of the Coyotes to win incl OT/SO. For what it’s worth I think the value is in betting Coyotes in regulation or something. Reason for that is I could see a solid Coyotes win or I could see the Canes showing up and blowing them away. An extreme either side. However in terms of tips we’ll go the safe route.

AHL Betting Tips (4-1, +1.13u): That over came in yesterday which was nice so hopefully you all got on that. Just a reminder it wasn’t an official pick so won’t affect our stats. 0.5u on LeHigh in reg at 1.85. 1u on Springfield Thunderbirds in reg 1.85. Not an official tip but it thinks San Jose Barracuda -2.5 has value.
