A winning night in the NHL last night to put us profitable for the season. Always good to get going early. Also great to see so many comments! I’ve been away in Washington and haven’t had the chance to jump into the comments but will get chatting with you all soon.
We took Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 and it was a nerve wracking one as Florida came to play and just wouldn’t go away. It took until just 7 minutes left for Tampa to get that two goal lead, and then Erik Cernak scored an empty netter to wrap it up and give us some relief.
It was a fun night of hockey. Habs vs Hurricanes was a thriller of a game. We don’t tip player props much but keep an eye on the over/under for goalies going against the Hurricanes for shots. Price was just over 29.5 saves yesterday and the Canes made him put up 40. They are great at shooting.
Jets vs Rangers was another great game. Most teams have played their first games although there is still a handful to play and we get to see a few of those tonight.
Five games tonight and we’ll stick with just the one play. It’s actually quite fun in that regard – having to debate and argue until we come out with just the one play.
Reminder that the Blackhawks game is in the Czech Republic and starts early.
Jets vs Devils Betting Tips:
A lot of excitement for this one as we get to see this new look New Jersey Devils team.
A lot of changes to the team with Jack Hughes, Wayne Simmonds, P.K. Subban and more. There’s so much hype about them and this offense. I’m really looking forward to this game.
They really look stacked.
However the big question will be on their goaltending. They didn’t deliver last season although they did look better in the last few weeks of the year. They’ve also been putting up the numbers in pre-season and are looking strong.
We’ve went back and forth on this one. Scott likes the Devils to win while I prefer the over 6.5 goals. I just feel the Jets defense look a mess, but their offense can click. In previous seasons they have been an excellent bounce back team. 6.5 is a lot of goals though.
It’s always so tricky at this early stage of the season when you’re trying look at the stats as you’re backing it on unknowns or very little data. The Jets offense looked excellent and delivered the goals but was that more because of the Rangers? Was that opening game energy and they’ll be depleted on this B2B?
At the end of the day – I’m looking forward to watching the Devils tonight. Not only that but I want to cheer them on. So that’s what I’ll bet. And if they let us down – welp; that’s the Devils for you.
