CLUTCHISON!
The Avs vs Stars series finally saw a game go under, with “just” 5 goals as the Avalanche beat the Stars 4-1.
The Avs have tied the series and it will make for an intense Game 7. Will the Stars have it in them to be able to keep the scoring going? Or is Hutch going to come up Clutch once more as the Avs progress?
We have two Game 6’s tonight to deal with first. Islanders take on the Flyers and the Knights take on the Canucks. Islanders and Knights both have 3-2 leads and are looking to progress to the next round.
Here’s our thoughts:
Flyers vs Islanders Betting Tips:
Graeme: While I feel the Islanders are the better team and will take this series – I’m happy to ride out my series bet on them rather than actually betting on them in a game by game basis. If they were underdogs and above coinflip odds I’d probably take them.
So what about this game? Well they have all mostly been tight affairs. Flyers have seemed to figure out that the only way to beat the Islanders is to score goals. Islanders have scored 3 or more goals every game in the series thus far which is bloody impressive when you consider Harts performances.
Islanders team toals is over 2.5 goals. There’s no indication they’re slowing down. In saying that Flyers know the recipe to success. I think both teams can contribute to the goals here and at the worst it’s a push.

Scott:Game 5 was a fairly even game that had the Isles scoring first but the Flyers scored the next 3 and the Isles answered back with 2 of their own to tie it and force overtime. The Flyers kept their playoffs alive when they won it in extra time.
After pulling off the much needed win the Flyers now have life and can force a game 7 with a win here. If the Islanders win then so be it as they deserve it but I like the Flyers to force a game 7.

Knights vs Canucks Betting Tips:
Graeme: Well the last game was an interesting one – the Knights were held to just the lone goal in a crazy game shot statistic wise.
I do feel the best bet is the Knights in regulation today. Quality will win out here. Canucks have given it their all. That last game shot wise was simply an anomaly.
I’m going to go with a player prop of Horvat Over 2.5 Shots.He’s hit that in 3 of the games so far. Boesner snatched them up more last game but I think we see Horvat get quite a few tonight.

Scott: What a game that was. The Canucks only had 17 shots but they managed to put 2 past Robin Lehner and they beat the Knights 2-1. The Canucks went with Thatcher Demko who was making his first career playoff game and he was up for the task. He made 42 saves and gave the Canucks hope with the win.
I expect the Knights to go back to Fleury in goal after the not so strong performance that Lehner had. Fleury is a playoff beast and if he gets the start then I expect him to have a big game and advance to the Western Conference Finals. But if they go back to Lehner I still expect them to move onto the next round as the Knights are stacked and deserve to be there. They can’t allow the Canucks to take this to 7 games.
